  • Patent number: 11785644
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may select a synchronization signal block (SSB) from a plurality of SSBs received from a base station based at least in part on a power measurement associated with the SSB. The UE may determine a physical random access channel (PRACH) coverage enhancement (CE) level that is associated with the SSB. The UE may perform, with the base station, a PRACH transmission on PRACH resources associated with the SSB and the PRACH CE level. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Publication number: 20230319765
Abstract: During a positioning session in which multiple location reports are provided, a user equipment (UE) that has little or no movement may provide an indication to an entity in the wireless network that there is no update for one or more location measurements. The UE may provide the indication to a serving base station in a Physical layer waveform. The base station may bypass the location server and provide an indication to an external client that the UE position has not changed. The UE may provide the indication to a location server in a location information report or by not sending a location information report by an expiration time. The indication of no update may be provided by a bit that indicates no location measurements are updated or that a particular location measurement is not updated.

  • Publication number: 20230319898
Abstract: User equipments (UEs) with reduced capabilities may need a relaxed processing timeline relative to standard UEs. The relaxed processing timeline may provide UEs with reduced capabilities an appropriate amount of time (e.g., during a random access procedure) to decode messages from a base station (BS) and/or to prepare uplink messages. Aspects of the disclosure relate to a UE configured to transmit a message to a serving BS, the message including a request for timeline relaxation for transmission of a subsequent message, the message and the subsequent message being associated with a random access procedure. The UE may receive a response message associated with the random access procedure and indicating one or more timing offsets corresponding to the timeline relaxation. The UE may transmit the subsequent message to the serving BS based on the one or more timing offsets indicated by the serving BS. The subsequent message acknowledges the response message.

  • Patent number: 11778574
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for secondary cell activation using temporary reference signals are provided. In one aspect, a method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE), includes receiving, from a base station (BS) via a first cell, an activation command to activate a second cell different from the first cell, and receiving, from the BS via the second cell during an activation period, a first reference signal different from a synchronization signal block (SSB). The method further includes performing a measurement of the first reference signal, and operating in the second cell based on the measurement. In some aspects, using reference signals different from SSBs may reduce the delay associated with activating the secondary cell.

  • Patent number: 11778549
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a base station may send signaling to multiple user equipments (UEs) indicating for the UEs to switch to a radio frequency bandwidth. The UEs may operate according to a reduced set of communication operations in accordance with the radio frequency bandwidth. For example, the UEs may refrain from monitoring one or more channels, may not transmit on one or more channels, or the like. The UEs may switch out of the radio frequency bandwidth based on a trigger event, such as a timer expiring, receiving an indication in a downlink control information (DCI) message, or the like.

  • Patent number: 11778610
Abstract: A UE receives control signaling that indicates that the UE is scheduled to transmit one or more uplink control channel messages on a first component carrier that overlap in a time domain with one or more uplink shared channel messages scheduled for transmission on a second component carrier. The UE resolves a first overlap of uplink control channels having a same priority level, if present, and resolves, after resolving the first overlap, a second overlap of an uplink control channel and at least one uplink shared channel having the same priority level, if present. The UE resolves two or more channels having a different priority level after resolving the first overlap and the second overlap. • Patent number: 11770234
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station using an operating bandwidth part (BWP) that includes a first set of frequency resources. The UE may receive a group-common downlink control information (GC-DCI) message from the base station that includes a resource format indicator (RFI) for the UE (e.g., among multiple RFIs for a set of UEs in the GC-DCI) indicating a second set of frequency resources. The UE may modify the operating BWP based on the second set of frequency resources and communicate with the base station using the modified operating BWP. In some examples, the UE may switch the operating BWP to the second set of frequency resources or may reduce the operating BWP to a set of overlapping frequency resources between the first and second sets of frequency resources.

  • Patent number: 11770861
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For example, a first wireless node (e.g., an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node) may receive, from a parent base station, system information that is indicative of two random access procedure configurations. The first random access procedure configuration may be for a two-step random access procedure and the second random access procedure configuration may be different from the first random access procedure configuration (for example, an IAB-specific, a user equipment (UE)-specific, or a four-step random access procedure). The first wireless node may determine to use the first random access procedure configuration (e.g., for establishing a wireless backhaul connection with the parent base station) and may perform the two-step random access procedure with the parent base station accordingly.
