Abstract: In some embodiments, a system, as well as a method and an article, may operate to generate map values for a plurality of parameters corresponding to respective grid blocks of a reservoir, wherein the values have been previously generated based on an initial simulation result from a model of the reservoir; to generate a sector surrogate model that includes a subset of grid blocks of the reservoir based on a criterion for identifying grid blocks that negatively affect simulation of the reservoir; to provide data inputs to execute a simulation of the reservoir using the sector surrogate model; and to generate revised data inputs, based on results of the simulation of the reservoir using the sector surrogate model, to use in a subsequent simulation using the model of the reservoir. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a method for locally lumped equation of state fluid characterization can include determining a set of components for the material balance calculations for a plurality of grid blocks of a reservoir. The plurality of grid blocks can experience different recovery methods between them. Lumping schemes can be determined for the plurality of grid blocks. Phase behavior calculations can be performed on the plurality of grid blocks, wherein different lumping schemes can be used across the plurality of grid blocks.

Abstract: In order to authenticate a caller, a callee generates a code, such as, an alphanumeric code that is sent to a code manager via an electronic communication channel. The generated code is for authenticating a caller in a communication session to be made by the caller to the callee. The code manager stores the code in a memory. After the communication session has been initiated from the caller to the callee and then established, the code is sent to the callee so the callee can verify the caller is authentic.

Abstract: A communication device is described along with various methods and systems for controlling the same. Methods are provided that monitor audio from a local and remote audio stream when determining whether to provide a mute notification on a muted call. In general, when a mute function of a communication device is active and a user attempts to speak, the system can analyze the user's local audio stream and the call's remote audio stream to determine whether characteristics exist to provide a mute notification to the user. The system provides mechanisms for controlling false positive determinations of speaking through mute by utilizing a combination of recorded characteristics and initiated timers that can be adjusted based on determinations made.

Abstract: An electronic device, system, and method performs an automated control. The electronic device includes an audio output device configured to play a sound. The electronic device includes a processor configured to receive state data indicative of a state of a user of the electronic device. The processor is configured to control an activation of the audio output device based upon the state data. The activation of the audio output device is based upon first setting data when the state data indicates a first state. The activation of the audio output device is based upon second setting data when the state data indicates a second state.

Abstract: A reservoir simulator system models the effect of proppant damage on reservoir production through calculation of a fracture closure stress versus fracture permeability relationship, which is mathematically transformed into a pore pressure versus fracture permeability relationship. Based upon the pore pressure relationship, the system models reservoir production while taking into account the permeability reduction in the fractures brought about due to proppant damage.

The apparatus also includes a first pump configured to provide nonzero fluid pressure at a first nonzero fluid pressure level based on a first axis state of the multiple axis controller and a second pump configured to provide nonzero fluid pressure at a second nonzero fluid pressure level based on a second axis state of the multiple axis controller. The processing apparatus causes switching between the first pump and the second pump based on the first axis state and the second axis state of the multiple axis controller.

Abstract: Systems and methods for determining operating settings of a fluid production system with a gathering network and a plurality of reservoirs, at least some of which include a method that includes lumping common pseudo-components into reservoir pseudo-components associated with each of the reservoirs. Each common pseudo-component is associated with the gathering network and maps to one reservoir pseudo-component of each of the reservoirs. The method further includes performing at least part of a fully-coupled simulation of the gathering network and the reservoirs using the common pseudo-components to obtain one or more operating settings that meet one or more constraints of the production system, and presenting to a user the operating settings.

Abstract: An authorization system for dynamically awarding permissions to a requestor for performing an action, based on real-time monitored statistics of the requestor. The authorization system comprises a processor and a memory. The memory further comprises a status database for storing real-time information corresponding to the requestor, and a rules database for storing rules to enable the authorization system in determining permissions for various requestors' requests to perform the action. Additionally, the memory includes a status determining module for determining status-data related to the requestor, and a permission awarding module to evaluate the status-data with a dynamically selected set of rules for awarding permission to a requestor's request. The memory further includes a risk estimation module for calculating risk associated in awarding the permission, and an action triggering module for triggering an associated action based on the calculated risk.
