A first method includes identifying a first interval for an uplink transmission in a shared radio frequency spectrum band; identifying a second interval for the uplink transmission; comparing the first interval with the second interval; and determining uplink resources to use for the uplink transmission based at least in part on the comparison of the first interval with the second interval. A second method includes transmitting one or more assignments of uplink resources to use for an uplink transmission in a shared radio frequency spectrum band; detecting a duration of the uplink transmission; and identifying uplink resources used for the uplink transmission based at least in part on the detecting.

    Abstract: Generally described, one or more aspects of the present application correspond to techniques for automatic recovery from dual isolation in which both the primary and secondary replicas of a volume are stored on isolating servers. The disclosed techniques use handshakes between the client and the replicas to determine which has a better health score. The replica with the better health score becomes the primary replica, and confirms that it and the secondary replica are both in an isolating state. In response, the primary replica seeks a solo blessing, undoes the isolating state at the volume level (the server host will still be in isolating state), and continues handling I/O and peer replication until its healthy peer is complete. These techniques can avoid availability drops when the servers hosting the primary and secondary replicas of a volume enter the isolating state at around the same time.

A fractional deviation map and/or a pattern deviation map is computed for the patient from the vessel density map and a normative database, wherein: (1) the fractional deviation map represents a percent loss of vessel density at each pixel location relative to an expected value based on the normative database; and (2) computing the pattern deviation map includes: computing a pattern map of the vessel density representing a normalized vessel density pattern of the vessel density map relative to an average value of the vessel density map; and computing the pattern deviation map using the pattern map. A loss is determined by using at least one of the fractional deviation map and the pattern deviation map. Other features are also provided.

A first feature, which has a first susceptibility to damage by chemical mechanical processing (CMP), is formed at a first height as measured from an upper surface of the substrate. A second feature, which has a second susceptibility to damage by the CMP, is formed at a second height as measured from the upper surface of the substrate and is laterally spaced from the first feature by a recess. The second height is greater than the first height, and the second susceptibility is less than the first susceptibility. A sacrificial coating is formed in the recess over an uppermost surface of the first feature. CMP is performed to remove a first portion of the sacrificial coating and expose an upper surface of the second feature while leaving a second portion of the sacrificial coating in place over the first feature.

The method is performed in the system including a controller for driving the system, a light emitter, a light sensor, an image processor and a central processor. The light emitter and the light sensor are set apart at a distance. When the light emitter emits an indicator light being projected onto a path the self-guiding machine travels toward, the light sensor senses the indicator light. An image containing the indicator light is generated. After analyzing the image, at least one feature of the indicator light being sensed can be obtained and used to obtain a spatial relationship between the self-guiding machine and an obstacle. The spatial relationship allows the system to determine if the self-guiding machine will collide with a wall or fall from a cliff.
