A first level of interest of a user in the sporting event is determined. A performance metric of a competitor in the sporting event is determined. A second level of interest of the user in receiving notifications relating to the sporting event is generated as a function of the first level of interest and the performance metric. In response to determining that the second level of interest exceeds a notification frequency threshold, a notification is presented for the user that includes the information related to the sporting event when the information is received during the sporting event.

    Abstract: Provided is an industrial process soft sensor method based on a federated stochastic configuration network, including: acquiring historical industrial process auxiliary data and corresponding product quality data; finding out optimal hidden layer parameters; processing, by a central server, to obtain global parameters, and downloading same to each factory as hidden layer parameters for a local model; obtaining output weights of a current network through an optimization algorithm, and uploading same to the server for weighted aggregation; and when the number of hidden layer nodes in a current network exceeds a maximum given value or a residual in current iteration meets an expected tolerance, completing modeling to obtain the global federated stochastic configuration network without adding new nodes. The present disclosure effectively improves prediction performance of models and protects data privacy, thus meeting industrial process soft sensor requirements.

    Abstract: Conventional television audience measurements are made with diaries or by imaging the area in front of a television and trying to identify the people in the images watching television. Unfortunately, diaries are only accurate if the audience members record entries in them, and image-based techniques are intrusive. The present techniques address these problems by using a viewer's wearable device to measure a viewer's proximity to a television. The wearable device emits or receives low-power beacon signals; measurements of the signal strength are used to calculate the viewer's distance to the television. If the viewer is close enough to the television and the television is on, the viewer may be engaged with the content on the television. This system is simple, non-intrusive, and can used to measure engagement with each television in a multi-television household.

Each cryptographic device may possess a secret share and a verification share, which may be used in the process of encrypting or decrypting data. The client computer may generate a commitment and transmit the commitment to the cryptographic devices. Each cryptographic device may generate a partial computation based on the commitment and their respective secret share, and likewise generate a partial signature based on the commitment and their respective verification share. The partial computations and partial signatures may be transmitted to the client computer. The client computer may use the partial computations and partial signatures to generate a cryptographic key and verification signature respectively. The client computer may use the cryptographic key to encrypt or decrypt a message.

A set of network conditions is used to simulate certain typical real-world network conditions. A coded video stream is transmitted from the transmitting end to the receiving end under these conditions. The end-to-end latency and received video fluency are measured along with a set of existing video quality measures by a video codec performance evaluation system including a network model and a video codec quality analyzer. The decodable frame ratio, latency and video fluency are used as the performance metrics for real-time communication video quality evaluation. The video codec performance evaluation system does not send any video data over a network when it determines the real-time communication quality of the video codec.
