    Abstract: Various apparatuses, systems, methods, and media are disclosed to provide a heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) medium that includes a sacrificial layer and corresponding etching processes to minimize head to media spacing. The medium may include the sacrificial layer and a capping layer where each of the layers is etched to reduce roughness. The sacrificial layer is configured to ensure an etch rate that allows for selective etching and may be deposited on the capping layer and after etching, may remain along grain boundaries of the capping layer. The remaining portions of the sacrificial layer may form a discontinuous layer, including layer segments positioned along grain boundaries of the capping layer. The sacrificial layer may be made of non-magnetic materials different from the materials of the capping layer or materials of an overcoat layer deposited on the etched capping layer.

The clamp arm includes a clamp arm pad including an electrically conductive material and an electrically non-conductive material. The clamp arm pad is configured as an electrode of a radiofrequency energy circuit, wherein the electrode is configured to transfer radiofrequency energy through the tissue to a return electrode of the radiofrequency energy circuit, and wherein the electrically non-conductive material is configured to reduce the possibility of an electrical short between the electrically conductive material and the ultrasonic blade as the clamp arm pad degrades throughout the usable life of the end effector.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a self-generating heat process for in-situ converting medium-low mature and organic-rich shale, and relates to the field of in-situ mining of medium-low mature shale rich in organic matter, the self-generating heat process mainly comprises the following steps: locally preheating the vincinity of an injection well of medium-low mature and organic-rich shale formation with well-reformed reservoir and injecting ambient temperature air into the preheated formation to excite and establish a chemical reaction zone composed of a residue zone, an autogenous heat zone, a thermal cracking zone and a preheating zone. Heat is released by oxidation reaction of residues generated after kerogen thermal cracking, so as to realize convection heating of medium-low mature and organic-rich shale formation. Oil and gas products generated from kerogen thermal cracking enter production wells through fractures and are lifted to the ground surface.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming vascular-like channels involves liquid-in-liquid 3D printing utilizing two polymer solutions used as a printing ink and a matrix. Anionic polyacrylamide (APAM) is one of the polymer solutions and acts as the matrix material. Chitosan is the other polymer solution and acts as the printing ink. The chitosan printing ink is extruded through a print nozzle of a 3D printer onto the APAM matrix which covers the bottom of a petri dish while the nozzle is moved in a desired pattern for the channels. The chitosan and APAM polymer complexes self-assemble on the ink-matrix interface, locking chitosan polymers inside the matrix before they can spread and causing the formation of soft elastic membranous walls. The chitosan ink and APAM matrix can be removed after the polymer complex self-assembly. The printed chamber with membranous walls allows for liquid infusion to work as fluidic channels.

After the flattened recycled carbon fiber material being pressurized to form products required, the product has flat and smooth surfaces with special textures. A thickness of the product can be controlled and the product can be thinned according to users' needs, without surface treatment such as grinding, polishing, etc. Thereby production cost is reduced and yield rate of the products is improved.
