  • Patent number: 7111305
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that performs event notification in a distributed computing system. During operation, the system receives an event that was generated at a node in the distributed computing system, wherein the event includes a set of name/value pairs associated with the event. Next, the system compares the event against a set of client event registrations to determine a set of clients to be notified of the event, wherein each client event registration identifies a client and a target set of name/value pairs, wherein the client is to be notified of the event if the target set of name/value pairs matches a subset of the set of name/value pairs associated with the event. Finally, the system sends a notification of the event to the set of clients to be notified of the event.

  • Publication number: 20040251071
Abstract: Automatic electric power parking brake system for motor vehicle automatically sets the parking brake when the driver leaves the seat or turns off the engine. It releases the parking brake automatically when the driver sits down and turns on the engine, The device for releasing parking brake includes a driver seat sensor and a double pole double throw igniting switch latching relay to provide a signal causing a motor-operated or coils-operated parking brake to release. The device for setting parking brake is different in an automatic transmission vehicle or in a manual transmission vehicle. A parking shift switch is separately connected to the driver seat sensor and the igniting switch latching relay causing parking brake to be set in an automatic transmission vehicle. A driver's seat belt buckle switch connects with the driver seat sensor, or the igniting switch latching relay, to set the parking brake in a manual transmission vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6792585
Abstract: The invention discloses a relative structure placement of datapath of cell instances in a column structure, a row structure, or an array structure. To encourage placement of a desirable structure, pseudo cells, pseudo pins, and pseudo nets are selected to be placed at certain locations with respect to real cell instances. The end result produces a cluster of real cell instances that form a desirable structure while minimizing the length of nets. The invention further discloses a non-uniform partitioning of a density map for calculating a force update vector. The partitioning is taken over a region A to compute Riemann sum approximations of a function F over the region A. A force update vector is calculated for a given cell instance within the region A where neighboring cell instances have an exponentially larger grid size as cell instances extend further away from the given cell instance.

  • Patent number: 5939795
Abstract: Seat sensor switches connected to the drivers seat and passenger's seat of a motor vehicle generate signals indicating when the seats are occupied. The passenger sensor switch generates an adult present signal, a child or small adult signal, or an infant/small child present signal depending on the size of the occupant. In response to a signal indicating that all the seats are unoccupied, the parking brake is set, a windshield curtain and a side window sunshade panel are deployed, and the headlamps and ceiling light are deactivated. In response to an adult present signal from the passenger sensor switch, a first quantity of air bag propellant is electrified, the air bag is aimed at an upper location, and the shoulder belt anchor is moved to an upper position. In response to a child or small adult present signal from the passenger sensor switch, a second, smaller quantity of air bag propellant is electrified, the air bag is aimed at a lower location, and the shoulder belt anchor is moved to a lower position.

  • Patent number: 5930499
Abstract: The invention resides in a computer-aided design system for defining physical placement and floor-planning of electronic circuits on a given substrate. Improve utilization of substrate area is achieved by arranging circuits into structural (e.g., data-path) and non-structural (e.g., non-data-path) zones for effectively segregated chip or board lay-out. Software is provided to receive a netlist file and determine therefrom which components are categorizable within structural portion. Furthermore, software is provided to produce a lay-out file which defines physical placement of the prototype design, wherein structural components are inter-placed with related control components, for example, to provide sliced-structure placement of a semiconductor chip.

  • Patent number: 5911764
Abstract: An open ended cylindrical chuck device has an inner fixing ring, an outer movable turning ring, and three movable screw threaded bars crossing the chuck device. While the turning ring is turned, the screw threads on the turning ring move three screw threaded bars to hold a bottle to be locked. A fixing pin crosses two holes which located separately on fixing ring and turning ring to stop their movement. A cylindrical cap with a regular lock locks the chuck device. Thus the bottle is locked.

  • Patent number: 5788239
Abstract: A player in a dice game may make two types of wagers against a banker. The winner of a first type of wager is determined by comparing the result of a roll of a pair of dice by a player to the result of a roll of the dice by the banker. The winner of a second type of wager is determined by the result of the roll of the dice by the banker. Combinations that may result from rolling the dice are exhaustively ranked. Several first and second types of wagers depend upon the rank of a combination that results from rolling the dice by player and the rank of a combination that results from rolling the dice by a banker.

  • Patent number: 5780937
Abstract: A driver's seat sensor switch has contacts that are operable to generate a driver present signal in response to a driver's seat of a motor vehicle being occupied. A passenger's seat sensor switch has contacts that are operable to generate a passenger present signal in response to a passenger's seat of the vehicle being occupied. The driver present signal is applied to a driver seat belt switch that opens when the driver's seat belt is not properly fastened. When the driver's seat belt is not properly fastened, the driver present signal is applied through the seat belt switch to a light, whereby the driver present signal conditions illumination of the light as an indication that the driver's seat belt is not properly fastened. In a similar manner, an indication is provided when the passenger's seat belt is not properly fastened. The passenger present signal additionally conditions a passenger air bag for deployment in response to the vehicle being in an accident.

  • Patent number: 5384720
Abstract: A logic simulation system and method reduces the number of events to be simulated. The simulator receives a user specified circuit netlist denoting a specified logic circuit's components and the nodes interconnecting those components. A user specified watched nodes list identifies the circuit nodes for which output waveforms are to be generated. A cell library provides cell delay data representing signal delays from each input port to each output port of each circuit component. A set of input signal waveforms are compiled into a sequence of variable length time periods and each input signal is assigned an extended boolean value for each time period. The extended boolean values identify signals that are stable over the time period, signals with a single transition during the time period, and signals with multiple transitions during the time period.
