  • Publication number: 20070211175
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus and corresponding method for reducing temporal noise of a target frame and enhancing the motion of the target frame. The apparatus includes a storage device, a temporal noise reducing circuit, and a motion enhancing circuit. The storage device stores a first filtered signal of a previous frame. The previous frame is previous to the target frame. The temporal noise reducing circuit reduces temporal noise of the target frame according to the first filtered signal and an image signal of the target frame. The temporal noise reducing circuit then generates a second filtered signal of the target frame, which is stored in the storage device. The motion enhancing circuit enhances the motion of the target frame according to the first and the second filtered signals, and generates a motion-enhanced signal of the target frame.

  • Publication number: 20060077304
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and a device for image contrast enhancement by taking the contribution of image chroma into account so as to define the luminance signal with the chroma weighted value. The new defined luminance signal can be applied towards expressing the image's parameters of original luminance signal and compensated chroma signal, through means of a statistic histogram extraction and the ratio relationship between before and after luminance curve process. Therefore, pictures can be provided with better saturation for satisfying the viewer's requirements, as observed from the process of the present invention.

  • Patent number: 4682986
Abstract: Carbon and catalyst containing chars obtained from a catalytic coal gasification or combustion operation may be separated into two layers of fractions by contacting them with an inert gas so as to fluidize them and thereby separately recover fractions of carbon-rich chars and fractions of carbon-poor chars, and collecting the separate fractions. The carbon-rich chars may then be recycled to the gasifier to be gasified, and the carbon-poor chars may be treated to recover the catalyst. Larger catalyst containing chars may be effectively separated in the presence of a host medium of a bed of solids fluidized by the inert gas. Smaller chars may be separated in the absence of such a host medium.

  • Patent number: 4105728
Abstract: Films are formed from liquid polymeric material passed through an elongate exit slit of a die and drawn to a solidification region.
