  • Patent number: 9325658
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for providing contextual relevance of an unposted message to an activity stream after a period of time elapses. A comparison is made between the current state of the activity stream at a second point in time with respect to the state of the activity stream at a first point in time, which includes an unposted message. The relevance of the unposted message with respect to a current topic of interest in the activity stream at the second point in time is quantified. If the contextual relevance of the unposted message with respect to the current topic of interest in the activity stream at the second point in time is less than a threshold, then the user is presented with an indication of the contextual relevance of the unposted message to the activity stream.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 5, 2014
Date of Patent: April 26, 2016
    Assignee: International Business Machines Corporation

  • Patent number: 7962557
Abstract: A method is provided for localizing a prefix in a subject header field of an incoming electronic message. The method comprises receiving a value string of a subject header in an electronic message; identifying a system-generated prefix in the value string by parsing the value string and accessing a database storing a plurality of system-generated prefixes and a corresponding comparable local prefix for each of the plurality of system-generated prefixes; and converting the system-generated prefix to its corresponding comparable local prefix in the database.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 6, 2007
Date of Patent: June 14, 2011

  • Publication number: 20090086331
Abstract: A variable focal length microlens system having a base section with a fluid chamber and a fluid pressurization mechanism. A flexible, substantially transparent polymer lens section is fixed above the fluid chamber and the lens section has a curvature providing an initial focal point when in an unstrained state. The fluid chamber is substantially sealed and the fluid pressurization mechanism includes a flexible wall in the base section. The flexible wall may be displaced by magnetic activation, PZT activation of another activating mechanism.
