    Abstract: Method and apparatus for data reception are provided, retrieving digital values transmitted through a cable. In a data receiver, an equalizer equalizes an input signal based on a boost value to generate an equalized signal, and a data extractor samples the equalized signal to extract output values from each symbol period. The data extractor detects signal quality of the equalized signal to adjust the boost value accordingly. An optimal time point is detected within one symbol period where an output value is an ensured valid, and variation rate of the optimal time point is counted as an inverse indicator of the signal quality.

    Abstract: A video signal processing system for slicing binary data transmitted in a video signal is provided, comprising a synchronous separator, a line counter, a slicing signal generator and a comparator. The synchronous separator detects Hsync and Vsync carried in the video signal. The line counter generates an enable signal by counting the number of scanning lines based on the detected Hsync and Vsync, wherein the enable signal is activate when the video signal carrying teletext and/or other binary data. The slicing signal generator further comprises an extreme value detector determining local maximum values and local minimum values of the video signal, and a slicing level determiner generating an adaptive slicing signal based on the local maximum values and the local minimum values. The comparator enabled by the enable signal compares the video signal with the slicing signal.

    Abstract: A data decoder decoding an input signal, comprising a comparator, a converter, and a data check module. The comparator compares the input signal with a threshold level to generate first data, such that each bit of the first data is one of two possible states, and identifies an ambiguous bit of the first data in an ambiguous range. The converter coupled to the comparator converts the first data to parallel. The data check module coupled to the converter evaluates whether the first data is inaccurate according to an error checking code thereof, and changes the ambiguous bit to the other possible state, if the first data is inaccurate. The ambiguous range includes the threshold level.

The first conducting terminal is made of material with a higher conductivity, while the second conducting terminal is made of material with a larger tensile strength.     Abstract: A control circuit for preventing equipment from being damaged by voltage sag uses a modular circuit having a rectifier, an electricity storing device or a control relay to perform functions of charging, discharging, and controlling. The modular circuit can be applied to control circuits of all equipment for increasing stability of the equipment. When a power source of the control circuit has voltage sag, the electricity storing device discharges for assisting a winding of a magnetic switch in riding through a temporary period of demagnetization. Consequently, the main connections keep contact for preventing the power source from being broken and also preventing the equipment from being damaged.
