Abstract: Files of various file formats are converted into markup language files, such as HTML files or XML-based files, and a compound web document is generated from the markup language files so that the compound web document may be displayed using a web browser, such as Internet Explorer. Files of the above-mentioned file formats may include a PowerPoint file (*.ppt), a Word file (*.doc), an Excel file (*.xls), a single packaged web page (*.mht), and an image file (*.bmp, *.jpg, *.gif, *.png). Thus the compound web document may be retrieved without linking any other files.

Abstract: A system and method of video stream encryption. A storage device stores a first quantization scale and a second quantization scale. An encryption application receives video data, a first quantization scale and a second quantization scale, generating quantized data by dividing the video into the first quantization scale, generating supplementary data by subtracting the quantized data multiplied by the first quantization scale from the video data, generating quantized supplementary data by dividing the supplementary data into the second quantization scale, and generating encrypted quantized supplementary data using variable length encoding and symmetrical/asymmetrical encryption algorithm.

Abstract: A method of establishing a link in a first web page includes establishing a first component in the first web page capable of querying a first data source, establishing a variable named according to a predetermined naming convention, generating an argument to the variable having a field queried in the first data source, establishing a second component in a second web page capable of receiving the variable from the first component, appending the argument to a query statement, and querying a second data source linked to the first data source, and embedding a link to the second web page in the code of the first web page having the variable and the argument.

Abstract: A system and method of automatically transforming instant message transmission modes on the Internet is disclosed. The transformation system is applied to a Java-based instant messenger and could be automatically transformed to four transmission modes in accordance with different network environments. The four transmission modes include the socket mode (i.e. direct connection through socket), HTTP 1.1 mode (i.e. connection through a proxy server and a firewall that both support HTTP 1.1), HTTP 1.0 mode (i.e. connection through a proxy server and a firewall that both support HTTP 1.0) and a pure-HTML mode (i.e. without JAVA applet).

Abstract: A web-based editing system of compound documents suitable for web browsing and the method thereof are disclosed. By using the web-based editing system, different kinds of files may be uploaded to a web folder and then transformed into several HTML files and XML-based files for viewing in a web browser (for instance, Internet Explorer). The above-mentioned different kinds of files include *.ppt (PowerPoint files), *.doc (Word files), *.xls (Excel files), .mht (packaged web files) and image files (*.bmp, *.jpg, *.gif, *.png).

Abstract: A pivot analysis with an XML/XSL mechanism is disclosed. The pivot analysis is utilized to acquire the raw data from a relational database and then the raw data is converted into a XML data by a pivot transformation mechanism. Furthermore, the XSL/XSLT mechanism is configured to modify the XML data and thus the post processing of the pivot tables, for instance, a row calculation and a column calculation can be performed.

Abstract: A video decoding method. The first frame of video data is acquired, the first frame is assigned to the backward reference frame and the forward reference frame respectively, and a frame buffer is emptied. Next, the next frame of the video data is acquired, and frame type is then determined. If the frame is a B-frame, corresponding decoding operations are implemented according to the determining result, and the frame is temporarily stored in the frame buffer.

Abstract: An image protection system and method. The system includes at least an image compression/encryption device having a compression unit, an encryption unit and an image composing unit. The compression unit separates an image into base image data and auxiliary image data according to a compression technique, and compresses the base image data to compressed base image data according to the compression technique. The encryption unit encrypts the auxiliary image data to an auxiliary image data cipher. The image composing unit composes the compressed base image data and the auxiliary image data cipher into a protected image corresponding to the image.

Abstract: An optical pointer includes a housing, a movable plate, a manipulable member and a displacement detecting unit. The movable plate is disposed in the housing and has a recognizable pattern. The manipulable member is manipulated by a user to transmit the movable plate to effect two-dimensional movement inside the housing. The displacement detecting unit is disposed in the housing for optically detecting the recognizable pattern of the moveable plate, and generating a control signal indicative of a displacement of the movable plate according to detected image change of the recognizable pattern.

A request of item selection is accepted for selecting parts of the items. A price of the merchandise is evaluated dependent on the selected items. Then the merchandise is output to the exterior electric device. The request of merchandise service and outputted merchandise comprise a serial number related to the merchandise.

Abstract: The method for manufacturing a pin set of a transformer comprises the steps of making material of a transformer coil; cutting a material strip of the material; and mold-punching pins of the transformer coil so that a distal end of the pin is formed with an enclosing surface and the pins are punched to have a complete metal enclosing layer. In the present invention, by molding punching, the distal end of each pin is formed with a cambered surface, and the whole surface of the pin is plated with tin or lead completely. That is, it has a preferred horizonalness so as to reduce the ratio of undesirable goods.

Abstract: A distributive web page management system for managing web page editing data of a website so that an editor can finish web page edition from any end user computer on the network. When a web page management system procedure is initiated, the user is registered in the system. The management system then downloads user assigned web page data to the end user computer according to predetermined privileges. The user edits web pages using the downloaded data and sends the edited web page data back to the server host. The management system replace the original data by the received web page data edited by the user according to his privilege so as to update the web page contents, thus completing the web page editing procedure.
