  • Patent number: 8860372
Abstract: A multiple cell battery charger with a parallel topography is disclosed which requires fewer active components than known battery chargers and protects the battery cells from overcharge and discharge. The charger that includes a regulator for providing a regulated source of direct current (DC) voltage to the battery cells to be charged. Each battery cell is connected in series with a switching device, such as a field effect transistor (FET) and optionally a current sensing device. In a charging mode, the serially connected FET conducts, thus enabling the battery cell to be charged. Battery voltage is sensed by a microprocessor. When the microprocessor senses that the battery cell is fully charged, the FET is turned off, thus disconnecting the battery cell from the circuit. Since the battery cell is disconnected from the circuit, no additional active devices are required to protect the battery cell from discharge.

  • Patent number: 8705706
Abstract: A method is disclosed for associating a caller utterance with corresponding elements of a flowgraph that depicts a voice-response system. Thus, an analyst who selects an element in a flowgraph receives immediate access to those utterances—and only those utterances—that are associated with the selected element. The analyst can easily listen to the utterances and review statistics associated with them. The utterances are stored, retrieved, and presented in a systematic and organized way. In some embodiments in accordance with the present invention, an utterance is associated with the link between two events in the voice-response system. In some alternative embodiments, an utterance is associated with other data, including, but not limited to: the event that precedes it; the event that follows it; the telephone number of the caller.

  • Publication number: 20130301136
Abstract: Example embodiments provide for an optical lens assembly and imaging lens with IR light filtering. The lens comprises a body having two surfaces and a plurality of layers of optical thin film layered along a direction formed on at least one surface. The optical thin films comprise less than 20 layers and thicker than 400 nm and thinner than 2000 nm thickness. Through the alternately layered layers of optical thin film, the transmittance of the lens for incident light in infrared ray band is reduced. Therefore, the infrared ray is mostly filtered without use of an additional infrared ray filter.

  • Publication number: 20130098877
Abstract: A capillary is utilized to form the wedge wire bond comprised in a wire interconnection. A wire holding device is located above a wire clamp and the capillary to secure the wire while the wire clamp is open and not clamping onto the wire. The wire clamp and the capillary may be lifted relative to the wire in a direction away from the wedge wire bond and towards the wire holding device so as to pay out a length of wire from the capillary. At a predetermined height of the capillary, the wire clamp is closed to clamp onto the wire, and thereafter, the capillary and wire clamp may be moved further away from the wedge wire bond to cause the wire to break away from the wedge wire bond and to form the wire tail with a desired length extending from the capillary.
