  • Patent number: 10631821
Abstract: An interactive visual guidance tool for an imaging acquisition and display system and configured for user navigation with respect to a blockage of a field of view (216) detects, and spatially defines, the blockage. It also integrates, with the image for joint visualization, an indicium (244) that visually represents the definition. The indicium is moved dynamically according to movement, relative to the blockage, of the field of view. The indicium can be shaped like a line segment, or two indicia (244, 248) can be joined in a ā€œVā€ shape to frame a region of non-blockage. The defining maybe based on determining whether ultrasound beams in respective directions are blocked. Included, for deriving the image, in some embodiments are imaging channels for receiving image data for which a metric of coherence, i.e., similarity among channel data, is computed. The determination for a direction is based on the metric for locations in that direction.

  • Publication number: 20200121295
Abstract: The invention provides methods and systems for generating an ultrasound image. In a method, the generation of an ultrasound image comprises: obtaining channel data, the channel data defining a set of imaged points; for each imaged point: isolating the channel data; performing a spatial spectral estimation on the isolated channel data; and selectively attenuating the spatial spectral estimation channel data, thereby generating filtered channel data; and summing the filtered channel data, thereby forming a filtered ultrasound image. In some examples, the method comprises aperture extrapolation. The aperture extrapolation improves the lateral resolution of the ultrasound image. In other examples, the method comprises transmit extrapolation. The transmit extrapolation improves the contrast of the image. In addition, the transmit extrapolation improves the frame rate and reduces the motion artifacts in the ultrasound image. In further examples, the aperture and transmit extrapolations may be combined.

  • Publication number: 20200128258
Abstract: Method and apparatus of using Bilateral Template MV Refinement are disclosed to improve coding efficiency or reducing complexity. According to one method, if a size associated with the current block is greater than a threshold, then Bilateral Template MV Refinement is applied to the current block. Otherwise, the Bilateral Template MV Refinement is not applied to the current block. In another method, the Bilateral Template MV Refinement is turned on or off implicitly based on the two reference blocks. According to yet another method, the Bilateral Template MV Refinement is performed on the sub-block level. According to yet another method, the Bilateral Template MV Refinement is performed motion vectors selected from candidates of AMVP (advance MV prediction) candidate list. According to yet another method, the Bilateral Template MV Refinement used a modified template to refine motion vector.

  • Patent number: 10629734
Abstract: A method of fabricating a fin structure with tensile stress includes providing a structure divided into an N-type transistor region and a P-type transistor region. Next, two first trenches and two second trenches are formed in the substrate. The first trenches define a fin structure. The second trenches segment the first trenches and the fin. Later, a flowable chemical vapor deposition is performed to form a silicon oxide layer filling the first trenches and the second trenches. Then, a patterned mask is formed only within the N-type transistor region. The patterned mask only covers the silicon oxide layer in the second trenches. Subsequently, part of the silicon oxide layer is removed to make the exposed silicon oxide layer lower than the top surface of the fin structure by taking the patterned mask as a mask. Finally, the patterned mask is removed.

  • Patent number: 10624099
Abstract: Methods and systems provide for coordinated control between multiple devices of playback of a media track or playlist. The multiple devices may form an ad-hoc network for sharing control of media. A control device may coordinate control of the playlist and facilitate playback of the media at a playback device. Then when the control device leaves the group, a second device in the group will seamlessly become the control device and control playback and playlist coordination. The playback device may also be the control device. The playback advice may be a network-enabled speaker. Where the playback device is separate from the control device, the playback device may maintain sufficient information to operate without a control device until a new control device is selected.

  • Publication number: 20200105500
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to solutions of detecting and classifying wafer defects using machine learning techniques. The solutions take only one coarse resolution digital microscope image of a target wafer, and use machine learning techniques to process the coarse SEM image to review and classify a defect on the target wafer. Because only one coarse SEM image of the wafer is needed, the defect review and classification throughput and efficiency are improved. Further, the techniques are not distractive and may be integrated with other defect detecting and classification techniques.

  • Publication number: 20200081107
Abstract: The invention provides a method for generating a filtered ultrasound image. The method begins by obtaining channel data. First and second apodization functions are applied to the channel data to generate first (610) and second (620) image data, respectively. A minimization function is then applied to the first (610) and second (620) image data, which may then be used to generate third (630) image data. The filtered ultrasound image may then be generated based on the first (610) and third (630) image data.

  • Publication number: 20200077088
Abstract: Method and apparatus of video coding using decoder derived motion information based on bilateral matching or template matching are disclosed. According to one method, an initial motion vector (MV) index is signalled in a video bitstream at an encoder side or determined from the video bitstream at a decoder side. A selected MV is then derived using bilateral matching, template matching or both to refine an initial MV associated with the initial MV index. In another method, when both MVs for list 0 and list 1 exist in template matching, the smallest-cost MV between the two MVs may be used for uni-prediction template matching if the cost is lower than the bi-prediction template matching. According to yet another method, the refinement of the MV search is dependent on the block size. According to yet another method, merge candidate MV pair is always used for bilateral matching or template matching.
