  • Publication number: 20040037181
Abstract: The invention is an offset setting system for an optical reading/writing apparatus having an optical pickup head reading/writing digital data under a predetermined velocity on an optical storage media. The apparatus sets the offset including a plurality of buffer blocks when the pickup head crosses storage tracks each time on the media and stop on a target storage track. The offset is to steady the pickup head to read/write data on a target block of the target storage track. A buffer time estimating module estimates an average time for the pickup head crossing a buffer block under a predetermined velocity, defining as a buffer time. The buffer blocks setting module records a steady time for the pickup head steadying to read/write data on the target block, and sets the number of the buffer blocks by a predetermined setting process in the offset based on the buffer time and the steady time.

  • Publication number: 20040039473
Abstract: A profile parameter value is determined in integrated circuit metrology by: a) determining a diffraction signal difference based on a measured diffraction signal and a previously generated diffraction signal; b) determining a first profile parameter value based on the previously generated diffraction signal; c) determining a first profile parameter value change based on the diffraction signal difference; d) determining a second profile parameter value based on the first profile parameter value change; e) determining a second profile parameter value change between the first and second profile parameter values; f) determining if the second profile parameter value change meets one or more preset criteria; and g) when the second profile parameter value change fails to meet the one or more preset criteria, iterating c) to g) using as the diffraction signal difference in the iteration of step c), a diffraction signal difference determined based on the measured diffraction signal and a diffraction signal for the sec

  • Publication number: 20030153643
Abstract: The invention provides curable organic coatings with improved scratch resistance. More particularly, the present invention relates to a combination of inorganic filler having a 50th percentile particle diameter of from about 3 to about 9 micrometers comprised of aluminum oxide, silicon dioxide, ceramic spheres or mixtures thereof, and particles having a 50th percentile particle diameter of from about 10 to about 150 micrometers. The liquid coatings have a viscosity before curing of from about 100 cps (mPa-s) to about 70,000 cps (mPa-s) at a shear rate of 0.15 s−1. The use of inorganic filler materials of the defined type and particle size are combined with the curable organic coating to improve the scratch resistance of the coating without a negative impact on the physical and performance properties or application parameters of the original coating material.

  • Patent number: 6595088
Abstract: A leverage-release type silent wrench structure comprised of a ratchet wheel and a torsion handle having a hinge section at one end that is situated next to the ratchet wheel. A clutch block curves upward from one side of the hinge section and a toothed surface consisting of a plurality of teeth is disposed along the arc-shaped inner side of the clutch block that provides for enmeshment with the ratchet wheel. A mounting base and a protective cover in an aligned arrangement accommodate the positioning of the ratchet wheel and the hinge section of the torsion handle within them. A linkage component pivotably conjoins the mounting base, the protective cover, and the hinge section of the torsion handle and, furthermore, such that the linkage component serves as the center point of rotation of the torsion handle.

  • Patent number: 6500575
Abstract: A method for fabricating cylindrical and prismatic rechargeable metal-air batteries is devised. The method includes using micro fans to control air flowing through the batteries via air pathways between the packs of electrodes and separator sheet. The air pathways are created by protrusions printed or molded on plastic spacer film. The air is used by the positive electrode for generating electricity when the metal-air battery is discharged. By conjunction of a second positive electrode and an energy storage device, the micro fans can be actuated as soon as the metal-air battery is demanded by a load. The in-cell air management can not only supply air for reactions but also shut the system to preserve materials when they are not in service.
