    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a multi-sensor don/doff detection system for an artificial reality device headset. The multi-sensor don/doff detection system can use a combination of a proximity sensor, an inertial measurement unit (IMU), and an eye tracking/face tracking (ET/FT) unit to make these determinations. However, when both the ET/FT system and proximity sensor system are active, they can have system coexistence issues. Thus, only one of these systems can be used simultaneously. The multi-sensor don/doff detection system can more accurately identify don events by using input from the proximity sensor and the IMU. The multi-sensor don/doff detection system can also more accurately identify doff events by using input from the IMU and either A) the proximity sensor when the ET/FT system is disabled or B) the ET/FT system when the ET/FT system is enabled.

    Abstract: A gardening apparatus includes one or more of a base, a fluid reservoir, and a plant tray or support disposed on the reservoir. The support is adapted for receiving one or more modular plant inserts, and can define a flow structure for channeling fluid to each insert. A pump supplies fluid from the reservoir to the plant tray or support, with a light assembly adapted to generate a spectrum of light for growth of plants from the inserts. A processor is configured for controlling fluid flow from the pump, the light spectrum generated by the lighting elements, or both. For example, the processor can use a dynamic recipe, algorithm or control schedule to modulate the fluid flow or spectrum based the plant type, growth stage, height, plant health data, digital phenotyping data, or ambient conditions, or a combination thereof.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a method for analyzing the non-observed effect concentration (NOEC) of a chemical on an organism. The analysis method includes the following steps: 1) conducting a chronic toxicity test on a test organism with a test chemical at different concentrations, and conducting assays to obtain several sets of endpoint effect data; 2) classifying the several sets of endpoint effect data obtained in step 1); and 3) constructing hypothesis testing models with the data classified in step 2), and according to the statistical significance values from hypothesis testing models, among the same set of endpoint effect data, adopting the highest concentration of the test chemical that do not produce a significant effect as NOEC within the set; and among the different sets of endpoint effect data, adopting NOEC of the set with the smallest NOEC value as NOEC of the test chemical on the test organism.

    Abstract: A method is provided for fabricating a catalyst carrier. At first, aluminum hydroxide is used for forming an alumina powder. The alumina powder is mixed with carbon nanotubes and a complex additive to be shaped into a cake. The cake is kneaded into a noodle-like shape to be hot-dried. Then, calcination is processed in a furnace under 1200 celsius degrees (° C.) with air passed through. The crystal structure remains without phase change. A catalyst carrier of ?-alumina having nano-scaled pores is formed. The catalyst carrier is a powdery material made into different three-dimensional forms. The catalyst carrier thus fabricated is suitable for generating hydrogen through methane reformation. The catalyst carrier has a methane conversion greater than 99 percents. The catalyst carrier will not be crumbled under 800° C. for 4000 hours without carbon deposit.
