  • Publication number: 20070174830
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and data processing system for performing automated optimization of a control processing flow containing Boolean conditional expressions is disclosed. Each conditional expression is profiled using a representative set of test vectors to determine the probabilities of individual conditions and combinations of conditions in the expression. Next, the expression is restructured or reordered, including selective computation of subexpressions, based on the probability information, so as to maximize the probability of a short-circuit termination of evaluation of the expression and/or to minimize the statistical execution time of the expression. This process is performed for all Boolean conditional expressions related to the control processing flow.

  • Publication number: 20070146989
Abstract: The invention provides a water-proof housing for an electronic equipment. The water-proof housing, according to the invention, has built-in drainage to cope with penetration of liquid into the electronic equipment. The water-proof housing essentially includes a main body with a plurality of ventilation holes formed thereon. The housing also includes a plurality of drainpipes which each corresponds to one of the ventilation holes and a collecting hopper is formed at one end thereof. The drainpipes are mounted on an inner wall of the main body such that each of the collecting hoppers is disposed underneath the corresponding ventilation hole. Once liquid flows into the interior of the electronic equipment through the ventilation holes, the liquid is collected by the collecting hoppers and drained out of the electronic equipment from an outlet.

  • Publication number: 20070085568
Abstract: A peripheral device connection current compensation circuit is proposed, which is designed for use in conjunction with a peripheral control interface on a computer platform, for the purpose of responding to an event of an external peripheral device being connected to the peripheral control interface by providing a current compensating function that can help to prevent an electrical current induced by a pull-up resistor in the peripheral device from flowing into the internal circuitry of the peripheral device. This feature can help maintain the slew rate of the connecting circuitry for the peripheral device at the rated value.
