    Abstract: A three-dimensional (3D) sensing system for determining a 3D profile of an object and a method are provided. The 3D sensing system includes a first light source, a liquid crystal lens, a light detector and a control circuit. The first light source is configured to emit polarized light with a polarization setting for projecting a structured light pattern on the object. The liquid crystal lens in a polarization state allows incident light with the polarization setting to pass through and block incident light without the polarization setting from passing through. The light detector is configured to detect light reflected from the object and passing through the liquid crystal lens. When the 3D sensing system is in a 3D mode, the control circuit is configured to turn on the first light source and control the liquid crystal lens to enter the polarization state.

The driving method is provided for driving a light-emitting unit including a first light-emitting element series and a second light-emitting element series connected in parallel and connected to a processing unit and a driving unit of a driving circuit. The processing unit detects a first voltage value and a second voltage value. The driving unit detects and transmits a first current value and a second current value to the processing unit. The processing unit determines and compares a first power value and a second power value. When the first and second power values are different, the processing unit controls the driving unit to adjust a driving current setting of the light-emitting element series until the first and second power values are equal. The invention ensures luminance consistency of different light-emitting element series and the luminance uniformity of display apparatus.

The set of ray slopes is mapped to a corresponding set of trigonometric functions. Using an optimization method, a parameter of the set of trigonometric functions is selected. Using an inverse of the set trigonometric functions, a vehicle mass corresponding to the set of point data is computed. Based on the vehicle mass, a threshold braking distance of a collision avoidance system of the vehicle is adjusted, the threshold braking distance comprising a distance from an object predicted to collide with the vehicle. By braking the vehicle at least the threshold braking distance from the object, a predicted collision between the vehicle and the object is avoided.

A generative (or compression) model is trained from the tokens in the token list to produce the corresponding sentence of each token through absolute overfitting of a pre-trained language model. The compressed text data is stored as the token list and generative model, resulting in a storage space savings.

    Abstract: A system is described for authenticating a user on a client device using the user's mobile device and utilizing the audio channel. An authentication server receives a request from the client to initiate a session for the user, creates the session, and sends a session token back to the client along with a request for authentication. The client broadcasts an audio transmission containing the token to the mobile device over an audio channel using data-over-sound transmission. The mobile device receives the transmission via a microphone, obtains the token and the server identity from the transmission, and sends user credentials that are stored on the mobile device along with the token identifying the session directly to the authentication server. The server verifies the received credentials, confirms the token, and logs the user into the session.
