    Abstract: An apparatus and corresponding method for scheduling and allocating radio resources are provided. The apparatus comprises a processor, which is configured to schedule a plurality of transmission flows into a plurality of groups according to a transmission request of at least one UE and according to interference information. Further, the processor is configured to allocate a transmission duration to each transmission flow, wherein transmission flows of the same group are allocated the same transmission duration, according to traffic demand information of the at least one. The processor is configured to allocate a transmission power to each transmission flow, wherein for transmission flows of the same group the transmission powers are allocated according to a channel quality of each transmission flow of the group.

    Abstract: Protograph-based LDPC codes are obtained from z-row-orthogonal base matrices with some additional structure constraints, such as a diagonal and/or double-diagonal structure, in order to allow a high parallelization that is a multiple of z, while having an efficient encoding or decoding. A “big” base matrix is constructed from a structured square submatrix in order to have a WiMAX-like structure and a z-row-orthogonality. Also, starting from a “smaller” base matrix having a part arranged in a double-diagonal shape with tail-biting one, an expansion by a factor equal to z can be performed, followed by an addition of a single one-entry into the last column at a specific location, thereby obtaining a three-degree column, and followed by a row and/or column permutation in order to obtain a base matrix in a WiMAX-like structure.

    Abstract: Allocation of CSI-RS or CSI pilot sequences among cells in a cooperative manner to reduce pilot inter-cell interference. Sequences in each cell occupy the same time slot, multiple subcarrier frequencies, and are orthogonal in time via properly chosen cyclic shifts. Sequences in multiple cells are chosen from a pool of non-orthogonal yet distinguishable sequences through their root indices. Exchanging root indices among cells allows a given cell to reconstruct sequences used in neighboring cells and to estimate interfering channels as the number of channel taps is usually limited, thus mitigating pilot contamination. Furthermore, a greedy selection algorithm to find combinations of sequences that further reduce the channel estimation mean-square-error is proposed.
