    Abstract: An apparatus for accessing and transferring optical data has a memory supporting the page-mode function, an accessing device used to access an error correction block from the optical storage medium and store it into the memory to make the portion of data in the same column of the error correction block stored in a particular locality greater than the portion of data in the same row of the error correction block stored in the particular locality, and an error correction decoder used to access the data of the error correction block to perform the error correction process. The apparatus uses the feature of the DRAM, such as page-mode function, and the data arrangement of the memory to improve the access efficiency of the memory. The apparatus can thus increase the access speed of the error correction decoder and improve the accessing efficiency.

    Abstract: A heat sink for a RAM includes a first and a second heat dissipating plate, on each of which a retaining tongue, a pair of locating tabs, and a catch tab are provided. The retaining tongue includes an expanded head portion and a narrowed root portion, and the head portion is a tab having a specific shape. The catch tab is provided with an expanded through retaining hole and a narrowed through root hole, which are configured to match the shape of the heat portion and the root portion of the retaining tongue, respectively. When the two heat dissipating plates are connected to each other, once the head portions and root portions of the retaining tongues are extended through the corresponding retaining holes and root holes of the catch tabs, the retaining tongues will not unexpectedly separate from the catch tabs.

The step of updating the PLMN list further comprises sorting the available PLMNs according to an order of preferred PLMNs corresponding to a current location of the mobile station, or according to a data transfer speed.

    Abstract: The disclosure describes queue management based on queue sets. A queue set comprises a group of packets or packet references that are processed as a single entity or unit. For example, when a queue set reaches the head of a queue in which it is stored, the entire queue set including its packets or packet references is passed for scheduling as a single unit. A queue set provides the benefit of a single operation associated with enqueuing and a single operation associated with dequeuing. Since only one operation on a queue is required for the typical case of several packets in a queue set rather than for every packet, the rate of queue operations may be significantly reduced. A queue set has a target data unit size, for example, a roughly equal number of packet bytes represented by each queue set, regardless of the number of packets referenced by a queue set.
