  • Publication number: 20110028600
Abstract: An antioxidant combined with UHMWPE prior to subjecting the UHMWPE to crosslinking irradiation. In one exemplary embodiment, the antioxidant is tocopherol. After the antioxidant is combined with the UHMWPE, the resulting blend may be formed into slabs, bar stock, and/or incorporated into a substrate, such as a metal, for example. The resulting product may then be subjected to crosslinking irradiation. In one exemplary embodiment, the UHMWPE blend is preheated prior to subjecting the same to crosslinking irradiation. Once irradiated, the UHMWPE blended product may be machined, packaged, and sterilized in accordance with conventional techniques.

  • Patent number: 7832379
Abstract: A devices for pumping fuel has at least one suction jet pump and a drive line, supplying the suction jet pump with fuel, that branches off from a pressure line leading to an internal combustion engine and that can be blocked off by means of a shutoff valve. By means of a shutoff valve, it is possible to switch off the suction jet pumps. The pressure of the pressure line acts on the shutoff valve in such a way that the shutoff valve closes at a pressure that is greater than or equal to a predetermined closing pressure.

  • Publication number: 20100182597
Abstract: A multi-part injection mold (10) for producing a cuvette (1) or a receptacle vessel for liquid or gaseous media for spectroscopic, qualitative and/or quantitative analysis or measurement using a measuring region or measuring gap (2) through which radiation is able to penetrate is provided, with the cuvette being made of plastic through injection molding. To this end, the inner cavity or filling space (9) and the measuring gap (2) are formed and limited on the interior of the injection mold (10) by a contour core (11), the thickness of which is limited to about one millimeter or less in the region (11a) of the measuring gap (2). The contour core (11) is held on the end (11b) thereof having the smallest dimension during the injection molding process, initially by at least one support (14), and retracted during the injection molding process after partial filling of the mold with plastic such that the lower continuation of the walls of the measuring gap (2) is formed.

  • Patent number: 7616795
Abstract: A method is disclosed for, such as with the aid of a tomographic imaging facility or in particular a computer tomograph, in a number of consecutive measurement scans, acquiring an object volume of an examination object. A series of main images is obtained by reconstructing in each case one main image from measured data of each measurement scan and the main images are displayed in temporal sequence. Intermediate images are calculated in order to raise an image repetition rate and are displayed between the main images. The intermediate images are reconstructed at a prescribable instant within the measurement scan directly from a combination of the measured data, acquired up to this instant, of the respectively current measurement scan with the measured data of the respectively preceding measurement scan. The present method can be used to reduce the delay times in the display of the main images in conjunction with increased image quality of the intermediate images.

  • Patent number: 7469683
Abstract: A fuel supply system is provided for delivering fuel from a tank to an engine of a motor vehicle through a fuel line. The system is provided with a pressure relief valve to divert fuel from the fuel line during engine shut down conditions when fuel flow to the engine is not desired. The pressure relief valve has a fuel outlet that is provided with backpressure during engine operation. The backpressure enables the pressure relief valve to be set at a lower level because the backpressure is added to set point pressure to determine opening of the pressure relief valve. Lowering the set point of the pressure relief valve allows fuel to be diverted from the engine at a lower fuel line pressure. In one embodiment backpressure is provided by fluid communication from a jet pump supplying fuel from the fuel tank to a fuel system reservoir.

  • Publication number: 20080136920
Abstract: The invention relates to an image module comprised of the following principal elements: a module board with an image sensor that is mounted thereon or on the rear side thereof by means of flip-chip technology. The aim of the invention is to create an image module in which a simple, precise and rapid mounting of the functional assemblies with the precise allocation of the distance between the surface of the image sensor and the lens system is made possible. To this end, the invention provides that three interspaced spacer elements (9) are placed between the module board (2) and the covering element (7). These spacer elements define the distance between the image sensor (3) on the module board (2) by defining a predetermined air gap (11).
