  • Patent number: 6383019
Abstract: A connector for attachment to a coaxial cable having a smooth outer cable conductor, includes a connector head having a threaded portion and defining a ring surface for establishing a contact from inside with an end zone of an outer cable conductor. The outer cable conductor is enclosed by a contact sleeve which has a plurality of radially resilient segments. Surrounding the contact sleeve is a hollow screw which is so threadably engageable with the connector head along a predetermined clamping path, until the end zone of the outer cable conductor is urged against the contact surface of the connector head. The contact sleeve, when not exposed to a load, has an inner diameter which in the area of the beaded ends of the segments is smaller than a diameter of the outwardly deflected end zone of the outer cable conductor and in the remaining area is greater than the diameter of the outwardly bent end zone of the outer cable conductor.

  • Patent number: 6267621
Abstract: A connector for attachment to a coaxial cable having an annular corrugated outer cable conductor, includes a connector head having a threaded portion and defining a ring surface for establishing a contact from inside with an end zone of an outer cable conductor. The outer cable conductor is enclosed by a contact sleeve which has a plurality of radially resilient segments. Surrounding the contact sleeve is a clamping bush which is so threadably engageable with the connector head along a predetermined clamping path, until an end zone of the outer cable conductor, which projects beyond an end face of the contact sleeve, is urged against the contact surface of the connector head. The clamping path of the clamping bush is subdivided in two sections to define an indexing mechanism, with the first section corresponding to a preassembled state of the connector, and with the second section commensurate with a fully assembled connector onto the connecting end of the cable.

  • Patent number: 6032358
Abstract: A connector assembly for a coaxial cable with a corrugated outer conductor, includes a housing being so configured as to define a recess at formation of an annular surface for contacting an inner end face of the outer conductor, and a clamp mechanism for captivating one end of the coaxial cable. The clamp mechanism includes a corrugated sleeve adapted to fit over the cable outer conductor, with the end face of the cable outer conductor projecting axially beyond an end face of the corrugated sleeve, and a clamping member adapted for engagement with the housing and thereby so pushing the corrugated sleeve into the recess by a distance as to clamp a portion of the end face of the cable outer conductor between the annular surface of the housing and the end face of the corrugated sleeve, with the corrugated sleeve being guided within the recess for axial displacement and secured therein against rotation.

  • Patent number: 5993254
Abstract: A connector for a coaxial cable, includes a head portion having a recess which has one end formed with a first ring surface for establishing a contact from inside with an end zone of an outer cable conductor, and a restraint mechanism for the coaxial cable, with the restraint mechanism including a clamp bushing having a head portion side end formed with a second ring surface for clamping the end zone of the outer cable conductor from outside, and a pressure-applying member surrounding the cable and fastened to the head portion. The pressure-applying member forces the clamp bushing in the axial direction against the first ring surface to thereby clamp the end zone of the outer cable conductor between the first and second ring surfaces.
