  • Patent number: 7918709
Abstract: A combined game call apparatus includes a unitary game call body in which a first game call and a second game call are formed in an over-and-under manner relative to each other. The first game call has a first inlet and a first air passageway associated with the first inlet. The second game call having a second inlet and a second air passageway associated with the second air inlet. The first game call may comprise a whistle-type game call the second air passageway may be generally cylindrical in cross section and may have a truncating, planar side wall proximate the first air passageway such that the truncating, planar side wall allows the first and second game calls to be closely positioned relative to each other and reduces the overall top-to-bottom profile of the unitary call.

  • Patent number: 7784213
Abstract: An apparatus may include a turkey decoy device with a collapsible fan holder. The collapsible fan holder may include a first section comprising a first plurality of feather retainers, a second section comprising a second plurality of feather retainers, and a first hinge attaching the first section to the second section. A fan holder with first and second feather retainers is also disclosed. The first feather retainer may be dimensioned to secure a first turkey feather to the fan holder, and the second feather retainer may be dimensioned to secure a second turkey feather to the fan holder. The first feather retainer may have a greater depth dimension than width dimension. A turkey decoy apparatus that includes a turkey decoy body is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7770768
Abstract: An archery bow cover and sling apparatus is disclosed comprising a cover structure comprising a string enclosing portion, a first end enclosing portion provided on a first end of the string enclosing portion, and a second end enclosing portion provided on a second opposing end of the string enclosing portion, a strap assembly attached to the cover structure, and a first bow retention assembly provided proximate the first end enclosing portion and configured to retain at least a portion of an archery bow within the first end enclosing portion. The string enclosing portion may comprise at least one fastener assembly configured to removably secure the string enclosing portion around at least a bowstring of the archery bow. A corresponding method of manufacturing is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7037167
Abstract: A whistle-type game call for reproducing sounds made by certain whistling animals, such as ducks or other waterfowl, without manipulating (e.g., rolling, vibrating, fluttering, etc.) the tongue. The whistle may include a sound chamber with one or more protruding ridges to space a free-floating tubular member contained by the sound chamber from an internal surface of the sound chamber. The spacing between the free-floating tube and the internal surface of the sound chamber prevents the free-flowing tubular member from sticking to the internal surface of the sound chamber due to accumulations of water, dirt, saliva, or any other foreign substances. The whistle may also include a hole for a lanyard to more conveniently carry the game call. The game call may be constructed from two halves, one of the halves having a ridge track and the other having a recess receptive of the ridge track to ensure proper alignment of the two halves.

  • Patent number: 6926578
Abstract: A double inlet game call apparatus includes at least two reed assemblies having two reeds, two sounding boards, and two air passageways. The reed assemblies may be physically separate and/or separate in terms of function, and are capable of simultaneously or alternatively producing sounds that simulate the sounds of wild animals. In particular, the multiple reed assemblies will allow the user of the game call to simulate a herd of animals. In one embodiment, the reed assembly section may be utilized without a sound chamber. In another embodiment, the reed assembly section is coupled to a single sound chamber. In yet another embodiment, the reed assembly section is coupled to a double sound chamber.

  • Patent number: 6902463
Abstract: A slate-type game call includes a flange extending downwardly below the bottom wall of the pot portion of the call. The flange creates a unique sound chamber. One or more apertures may be provided around the flange to assist in projecting sounds from the sound chamber when the call is secured to a support surface. The flange may further include a pair of slots through which a fastening strap can be inserted to secure the call to a person's limb or hunting implement. Relatively narrow channels leading to the strap slots may be formed in the flange to allow the game call to be quickly connected and disconnected from the fastening strap. The configuration of the flange in combination with the flexible fastening strap allows the game call to be pivoted relative to a support surface to which the game call is secured to project and direct sounds from the sound chamber.

  • Patent number: 6767270
Abstract: A modular elk call system comprising generally a mouthpiece assembly, a tubular portion, and a resonance producing end. The mouthpiece assembly can be completely removed from the call to enable tubular section and resonance producing end piece to be used separately with any other type of call. The mouthpiece assembly comprises a detachable snap-on diaphragm that insures accurate, consistent tension of the membrane to allow high quality tones to be produced. Alternatively, a sheet of membrane material can be attached to the end of the mouthpiece assembly to create high quality tones. The resonance producing end piece allows the call to produce a resonant sound highly similar to a bugling bull elk.

  • Patent number: 6575804
Abstract: A game call apparatus requires an airflow across a sound-producing reed, which may be produced by a bellows, to create a variety of sounds that simulate the sounds of wildlife animals. The game call apparatus may include, in one embodiment, a pressure point structure which engages the sound-producing reed at a reed contact location. The pressure point structure can be manually manipulated to move the pressure point structure along the reed and change the reed contact location so that the sound-producing reed gradually changes the sounds produced by the game call apparatus. The bellows may include an aperture which must be covered when the game call is used. When the game call is not being purposely used, the aperture allows air to escape when the bellows are inadvertently collapsed to prevent the game call from sounding.
