    Abstract: The invention describes a process for preparing acetone starting from acetyl-coenzyme A comprising process steps A. enzymatic conversion of acetyl-CoA into acetoacetyl-CoA B. enzymatic conversion of acetoacetyl-CoA into acetoacetate and CoA and C. decarboxylation of acetoacetate to acetone and CO2, which is characterized in that the coenzyme A is not transferred in process step B to an acceptor molecule. In addition, process step B is surprisingly catalysed by enzymes of the classes of acyl-CoA thioesterase, acyl-CoA synthetase or acyl-CoA thiokinase. A completely novel metabolic pathway is concerned, because the enzymatic hydrolysis of acetoacetyl-CoA without simultaneous transfer of CoA to a receptor molecule has never previously been described for any microbial enzyme.

The process including the steps of initially machining a round input ingot to size, the ingot having a length, subsequently heating the ingot to a deformation temperature between 1250° C. and 1310° C., descaling an entire surface of the heated ingot with pressurized water, subsequently inserting the ingot into a mold, piercing the ingot in a sharply increasing manner using a mandrel so as to form a pierced piece with a base, applying a lubricant to the mold and the mandrel prior to piercing, subsequently ejecting the pierced piece from the mold, cooling and descaling the ejected pierced piece, and mechanically finish-machining the pierced piece to produce the cylinder.

    Abstract: A vertical strip storage device for bridging strip running interruptions in continuous strip production includes a supporting frame forming a looping tower. The continuous strip is looped around deflecting rollers mounted on upper and lower horizontal roller bridges. The roller bridges move synchronously and vertically, one above the other, toward and away from one another. The inherent weight of one roller bridge compensates for the inherent weight of the other roller bridge as a counterweight. A joint cable drive is used to move the roller bridges. One of the roller bridges is at the upward cable portion of the vertically deflected joint cable drive and the other roller bridge is at the downward cable portion of this vertically deflected joint cable drive. The joint cable drive includes pulley blocks supported in the upper region and in the lower region of the supporting frame.

    Abstract: An arrangement for limiting the filling of tanks and for aeration and ventilation of tanks in which a portion of the tank volume acts as a pressure-compensation space for temperature changes, has an aeration and ventilation arrangement opening into the aeratable and ventable filler neck, said arrangement having a filling vent which determines the maximum allowable liquid level and an operating vent to take over aeration and ventilation of the pressure-compensation space with a sealing arrangement, such that the operating vent is sealed off by the action of a spring when the tank cap is removed, and when the tank cap is attached, it is thereby opened against the spring pressure. Operating ventilation is controlled by a valve integrated into the aeration and ventilation line which valve can be actuated against spring resistance by a plunger rod.

A certain time interval which is essentially caused by the transport operations always lies between triggering an X-ray exposure and the actual exposure of the image layer. In order to facilitate release of the X-ray exposure at the proper point in time, the disclosure provides that the overall transport time of the image layer carrier from the ready position into the exposure position is kept constant independently of the mass to be transported. Additionally, the transport time can also be kept constant independently of the different length of the transport path given sequencing of a sub-division program. An inventive X-ray examination device is particularly suited for employment in X-ray diagnostics.
