  • Patent number: 6932243
Abstract: A dynamic mixer configured to a double cartridge or a dispensing appliance, wherein the mixer includes two similarly configured inlets that are configured to connect to respective outlets of the double cartridge or the dispensing appliance, the outlets having either equal diameters wherein the inlets are inserted into the outlets of equal diameters, or the outlets have different diameters wherein one of the inlets fits over a smaller one of the outlets while another of the inlets fits into a larger one of the outlets. In another embodiment of the present invention, there is a dynamic mixer assembly including a dynamic mixer as just described, further attached to a double cartridge or a dispensing appliance.

  • Publication number: 20050127119
Abstract: The applicator for a double cartridge includes an adapter for connection to a mixer attached to a double cartridge as well as a dispensing slot, the side of the enclosure that is turned towards the glued substrate forming an angle with the longitudinal axis of the adapter which is comprised between 5° and 90°. The underside of the enclosure is essentially continuously curved. Due to the curvature of the enclosure, the material that is to be glued, e.g. lung tissue, is first smoothened and immediately thereafter evenly coated with adhesive. This allows a reliable application of such an applicator in medicine or in the industry.

  • Publication number: 20050103809
Abstract: The electrically operated cartridge dispensing appliance includes dispensing rams and an electric motor actuating the thrust rods. Through a lever, the electric motor acts upon clamping members which actuate and move the thrust rods. The motor preferably acts upon a disk cam that actuates the lever. The construction of such a driving mechanism is both simple and cost-efficient and space-saving.

  • Patent number: 6854621
Abstract: The cartridge dispenser comprises a double cartridge having two cylindrical containers of different cross-sections, a drive for a dynamic mixer, and a housing base in which the drive shaft of the dynamic mixer is arranged in a longitudinally displaceable manner. The mixer drive shaft is guided in a laterally displaceable manner such that the driver of the mixer drive shaft is situated on the center axis of the mixer rotor independently of the cross-sectional ratio of the containers of the double cartridge. The mixer is located on the center axis which extends between the outlets of the containers. The mixer drive shaft is automatically forced to the correct position when a double cartridge is inserted. Consequently, the driver is always correctly aligned to the mixer rotor. Suitable means in the housing base always provide a correct location of the cartridges, and in a preferred embodiment, the mixer can be attached to the cartridge without the need of being previously oriented.

  • Patent number: 6769574
Abstract: A dispensing device includes a cartridge, a mixer, a threaded coupling ring, and complementary coding elements formed on the cartridge and mixer. The cartridge includes a plurality of chambers each having an outlet, and a flange comprised of a thread. The mixer is comprised of a housing with a plurality of inlets corresponding in number to the outlets. Each inlet is configured to engage a respective one of the outlets and a mixer element disposed in the housing. The coding elements permit the inlets of the mixer to be aligned and connected to the respective outlets of the cartridge in only one orientation.

  • Publication number: 20040141413
Abstract: The static mixer comprising mixing elements for separating the material to be mixed into a plurality of streams and means for the layered junction of the same, a transversal edge and guide walls that extend at an angle to said transversal edge, as well as deflecting elements arranged at an angle to the longitudinal axis and provided with openings, includes mixing elements comprising a transversal edge and a following transversal guide wall and at least two guide walls with lateral end sections and at least one bottom section disposed between said guide walls, thereby defining at least one opening on one side of said transversal edge and at least two openings on the other side of said transversal edge. In addition to a high mixing efficiency and a low pressure drop, a mixer of this kind provides reduced dead volumes and is thus more effective than mixers of the prior art.

  • Publication number: 20020175186
Abstract: The dynamic mixer comprises a rotor housing including a cover and a rotatable mixing rotor, said rotor housing cover being provided with inlets for the components to be mixed. For a good premixing of the components, said mixing rotor is provided near the inlets with a rotor disk whose surface is provided on the inlet side with carriers forming chamber sections for carrying along the components to be mixed, and whose circumference is provided with annular gaps through which the components pass to the rear side of said rotor disk and to the rotor hub which comprises mixing elements. Due to the fact that the components are carried along and transferred to the rear side of said rotor disk only at the circumference thereof, the components are metered and premixed, thereby allowing a substantial improvement of the mixing quality and performance.

  • Patent number: 6450370
Abstract: A manually operated dispensing device for use with a double cartridge for dispensing two-component chemical systems includes a double thrust ram with two thrust ram parts each having a toothed surface on which teeth are provided. The width of the thrust ram parts may be equal, or alternatively, the one thrust ram part may be wider than the other. The dispensing device further includes a drive assembly for acting on the double thrust ram, which is actuated by a trigger lever. The drive assembly includes a drive member, which includes teeth for acting on the teeth of the double thrust ram. The toothed surface of the thrust ram parts are either provided with ribs arranged near the outer edges of the thrust ram parts or have no ribs at all. As a result, a maximum width of the teeth is obtained and a maximum force is transmitted.

  • Patent number: 6371336
Abstract: The electrically operated dispensing appliance comprises a gear motor which is connected to the main shaft by a first gear and a first shifting sleeve in order to operate the advance and the relieving stroke under high loads, and for the operation at smaller loads, i.e. fast retraction and fast forward feed, it is connected to the main shaft by a second gear, a driving shaft, and a second shifting sleeve. An electromagnet is connected to said two shifting sleeves in such a manner that one or the other shifting sleeve is selectively connectable to the main shaft. A drive assembly of this kind is more economical and more silent than a solution with two gear motors.

  • Patent number: 6260577
Abstract: The dispensing assembly for transferring at least two liquid components from a remote source to a metering device and for replenishing component accumulators independently of whether the unit is metering or not, comprises a metering device for at least two components with a metering pump and a remote bulk container for each component, whereby for each component the bulk container is connected via a low pressure transfer pump and low pressure transfer hose to a pump inlet adaptor of the metering pump as well as to an accumulator assembly situated immediately before the inlet of the metering pump. This allows the use of low pressure transfer and low pressure metering systems instead of high pressure metering and high pressure transfer systems and hence lower cost dispensing assemblies.
