Abstract: A case is provided for a portable Radio Frequency (RF) communications device having an RF antenna. The case includes a base and a plurality of walls, extending from the base. The base and the plurality of walls have requisite dimensions to receive a portable Radio (RF) having an outer surface with a first portion and a second portion. First dielectric characteristics adjacent to the first portion having a relatively low effect on a frequency characteristic of an RF antenna arrangement and second dielectric characteristics adjacent to the second portion having a relatively high effect on the frequency characteristic of the RF antenna arrangement. When the communications device is disposed in the case, the case is adapted to cover part of the first portion of the communications device so as to cause a dielectric parameter adjacent a part of the first portion of the communications device to be relatively high, and a dielectric parameter adjacent the second portion to be relatively low.

Abstract: A case for a mobile device with a screen, the case comprising a band arranged to surround the edge of the device. The band comprises a layer of flexible polymer and a layer of a damping material which is softer than the flexible polymer provided within the flexible polymer layer. The damping material has a plurality of integrally formed protrusions projecting inwardly protrusions projecting inwardly from a substantial portion of the inner periphery of the band to engage with the device. The protrusions are provided at least in the corner regions of the case and the protrusions are arranged such that, in normal use there is substantially no contact between the band and the device other than through the protrusions.

Abstract: A case for a portable device with a screen. The case comprises a main body (1) arranged to fit around the body of the device to define a space behind the device, and a cover (2) arranged to selectively cover the screen. The cover has a free edge (5) opposite to a hinge (7) about which the cover is arranged to pivot to open the cover. The hinge (7) is captive within and slidable across the space to retract the cover from a covering position into a storage position in which it is retained behind the device in the space.

Abstract: An applicator for aligning a screen protector on a portable electronic device (D) with a screen, four edges and a rear face opposite to the screen. The applicator comprises a body with an engagement member (2, 11) and an alignment feature (3, 5, 12, 13). The engagement member (2, 11) is arranged for edgewise engagement with no more than three of the four edges of the device (D) to align the applicator with the device by movement in a direction generally parallel to the plane of the screen such that the alignment feature (3, 5, 12, 13) covers a portion of the face of the device comprising the screen which is not covered by the screen protector allowing an edge of the screen protector to be located with respect to the alignment feature.
