    Abstract: There is provided a digital, non-spread spectrum, cordless telephone that includes a baseband circuit and a transceiver. The baseband circuit consists of non-application specific circuitry. The non-application specific circuitry includes Continuous Variable Slope Delta Modulation (CVSD) circuitry for encoding and decoding voice data. The transceiver has Frequency Division Duplex circuitry for transmitting the voice data at a Radio Frequency (RF) transmit power greater than 0 dbm.
