  • Patent number: 11905202
Abstract: A method of modifying a glass substrate comprises: generating surface features with peaks and valleys on a first surface of a glass substrate, the surface features providing a roughness average (Ra) within the range of 10 nm to 2000 nm; generating a region of the glass substrate that is under compressive stress, the region extending from the first surface to a depth of compression; and removing a portion of the region under compressive stress from the first surface into the depth of compression to define a new first surface still having surface features with peaks and valleys providing a roughness average (Ra) within the range of 10 nm to 2000 nm. Removing the portion of the region under compressive stress from the first surface into the depth of the compression to define a new first surface can comprise contacting the first surface with a light etchant.

  • Patent number: 11906244
Abstract: A process is provided for treating a hydrocarbon gas stream by condensing a portion of the gas stream to produce a liquid stream, then through several steps subcooling a portion of the liquid stream to be introduced into a midpoint into a fractionation column. Unexpectedly, it has been found that the recompression and refrigeration power requirements are substantially reduced and the minimum approach to carbon dioxide freezing are increased when the liquid stream is introduced to a midpoint in the column when compared to introducing the liquid stream to a top position or a lower position in the fractionation column.

  • Patent number: 11907408
Abstract: A device comprising a processing unit having a plurality of processors is provided. At least one encryption unit is provided as part of the device for encrypting data written by the processors to external storage and decrypting data read from that storage. The processors are divided into different sets, with state information held in the encryption unit for performing encryption/decryption operations for requests for different sets of processors. This enables interleaved read completions or write requests from different sets of processors to be handled by the encryption unit, since associated state information for each set of processors is independently maintained.

  • Patent number: 11901810
Abstract: An adaptive electrical power distribution panel receives electrical power from at least an alternative power source other than a utility electric grid, and selectively outputs power to a plurality of branch circuits, appliances, or devices. An internal or remote controller monitors conditions. In response to the monitored conditions, the controller algorithmically divides the plurality of branch circuits, appliances, or devices into a first group to receive power from the alternative power source and a second group to not receive power from the alternative power source, and breaks electrical connections between the alternative power source and the second group. The monitored conditions may include operating parameters the grid; an instantaneous or average individual current flow; and a charge state of storage batteries. The division into groups may also be in response to stored information, such as a priority of, or history of current usage by, each branch circuit, appliance, or device.

  • Patent number: 11898815
Abstract: A semiautomatic shotgun successfully uses the AR-10 receiver and the superior direct impingement gas system. A combination of locking lugs to maintain proper sequencing, a spring disposed inside of a gas impingement chamber, and a spring to cycle the action. Fouling is avoided using nickel-boron coated parts, permanent infusion of a dry film lubricant, and an angled gas port. A unique magazine feed lip and barrel extension feed ramp and the magazine maintaining the shells at a slight angle upward, and a bolt face having a rear facing partial bevel avoid jamming and snagging. The present invention also teaches raised gas tube and gas key to accommodate the larger bore of the shotgun. The combination achieves an AR-10 based shotgun which has the advantages of direct impingement cycling (less recoil, greater accuracy, etc) without fouling and/or jamming.

  • Patent number: 11899453
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods that control the motion of an autonomous vehicle by rewarding or otherwise encouraging progress toward a goal, rather than simply rewarding distance travelled. In particular, the systems and methods of the present disclosure can project a candidate motion plan that describes a proposed motion path for the autonomous vehicle onto a nominal pathway to determine a projected distance associated with the candidate motion plan. The systems and methods of the present disclosure can use the projected distance to evaluate a reward function that provides a reward that is positively correlated to the magnitude of the projected distance. The motion of the vehicle can be controlled based on the reward value provided by the reward function. For example, the candidate motion plan can be selected for implementation or revised based at least in part on the determined reward value.

  • Patent number: 11889996
Abstract: A specimen collection container having a separation chamber includes a first chamber, a second chamber, and a valve located between the first chamber and the second chamber. In an open position, the valve permits fluid communication between the first chamber and the second chamber. In a closed position, the valve maintains fluid isolation between the first chamber and the second chamber. A fluid stream passes from the first chamber to the second chamber through the valve permitting a predetermined volume of fluid to pass from the first chamber to the second chamber. When the predetermined volume of fluid passes to the second chamber, the valve transitions from the open position to the closed position so that additional fluid of the fluid stream received by the first chamber is maintained in the first chamber in fluid isolation from the predetermined volume of fluid contained in the second chamber.
