  • Patent number: 6012896
Abstract: The insert part (12) is introduced into the tubular part (10) from one end and comes to butt, in the direction of the longitudinal axis (11) of the tubular part (10), against a stop (24). At its end into which the insert part (12) is pushed, the tubular part (10) exhibits a region (30) with increased outer cross section. An annular tool part (36) with an opening (38) is pushed over the tubular part (10), from its other end, the cross section of which opening is smaller than that of the region (30) of the tubular part (10) with increased outer cross section. The tool part (36) is drawn over the region (30) with increased outer cross section, with the result that said region (30) is forced radially inwards, plastic deformation taking place in the process, and comes to butt, against the insert part (12), in doing so fixing the latter in the direction of the longitudinal axis (11).

  • Patent number: 5961276
Abstract: The aggregate has a feed pump formed as a flow pump (10) comprising an impeller (12) rotating in a pump chamber (24) which has a peripheral rim of vanes (32) on respective opposite sides of the impeller which together with opposing side walls (26,28) bounding the pump chamber (24) form respective lateral feed ducts (44). The vanes (32) of the impeller (12) are connected with each other by an outer ring (36) at their outer radial ends. The outer ring (36) of the impeller (12) similarly has respective additional rims of additional vanes (101) on opposite sides thereof. Both additional vane rims are separated from each other by an annular separating member (102) placed between them in an axial direction. • Patent number: 5807068
Abstract: The flow pump has an impeller (22), revolving in a pump chamber, which on each of its two axially oriented face ends (28, 29), has one ring of vanes (30) between which interstices (31) are located, and which cooperates with a feed channel (34) associated with the vanes (30) for pumping the fuel. • Patent number: 5785490
Abstract: The fluid pump has a pump impeller provided with vanes and driven to revolve in a pump chamber that is defined by one wall portion each in the direction of the rotary axis of the pump impeller. In both wall portions, toward the pump impeller, there is an annular supply conduit and an outlet opening that discharges into one supply conduit. The outlet opening is defined in the rotational direction of the pump impeller by a wall which comes to an end in the form of an edge of the end face of the wall portion. The edge has an inner portion, which is inclined in the rotational direction relative to the rotary axis with respect to an imaginary radial arrangement. The inner edge portion is adjoined by an outer edge portion, which relative to an imaginary rectilinear lengthening of the inner edge portion extends farther in the rotational direction. As a result of this embodiment, an improved outflow from the supply conduit through the outlet opening has been obtained.

  • Patent number: 5601422
Abstract: A fuel feed assembly with a feed pump of the roller-cell pump type, of which the pump rotor rotates eccentrically in a pumping chamber has a plurality of rollers which are guided in radial grooves of the disk-shaped pump rotor and are distributed uniformly over the circumference. When the pump rotor is rotating, the rollers run, as a result of the centrifugal force, on a bore wall of an intermediate ring radially delimiting the pumping chamber. The bore wall forms a running track. At the same time, the rollers delimit individual sickle-shaped pump rotor and the bore wall and the volume decreases from a suction port towards a delivery port as a result of the eccentricity of the pump rotor. At the same time, there is provided between the delivery port and suction port in the direction of rotation of the pump rotor a narrow-gap region which, according to the invention, is made so large that the pump working spaces passing through this region are closed completely.

  • Patent number: 5545017
Abstract: A unit for delivering fuel from a supply tank to the internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle in which an electrical drive motor, which is embodied as an axial field motor, drives an impeller of a feed pump, which is embodied as a peripheral feed pump. In order to embody the delivery unit as flat as possible in the axial direction of the impeller, the rotor part of the axial field motor is disposed on the impeller, which carries the blades and which revolves in a pump chamber, and is combined with this impeller into one common element. The rotor windings of the rotor part can be disposed either inside a circle constituted by the blades of the feed pump or on the impeller radially outside the blades; the permanent magnets of the axial field motor are accordingly disposed in the housing, opposite the rotor windings.

A hydraulic buffer is formed between the impeller and the end walls of the pump chamber and includes recesses provided in a structure selected from the axial end surface of the impeller and the end walls of the pump chamber, so that the recesses are fillable with fuel during operation of the feeding pump and form the hydraulic buffer which acts in an axial direction of the impeller and stabilizes the impeller. An outer ring which connects the vanes of the impeller at their radially outer ends and limits the impeller in a peripheral direction. The recesses are arranged in a region of the outer ring.

  • Patent number: 5486087
Abstract: A unit for delivering fuel from a supply tank to an internal combustion engine, having a disklike impeller driven to revolve in a pump chamber, on whose circumference a number of blades are disposed, and having at least one supply conduit, disposed in the region of the impeller blades and open toward the impeller, in a chamber wall defining the pump chamber on the face end and axially adjoining the impeller, which supply conduit extends via a split ring around the pivot axis of the impeller from an inlet opening into the pump chamber to an outlet opening from it. In order to assure that sufficient fuel can be aspirated unthrottled in the presence of gas bubbles in the fuel, in particular when the fuel is hot, the supply conduit is embodied in the region of the inlet opening as larger by a factor of 2 than the usual supply conduit cross section; the cross section of the supply conduit then decreases continuously, beginning at the inlet end, forming a compression conduit.
