  • Publication number: 20020071441
Abstract: A packet memory system is provided. The packet memory system includes a memory cell array for storing a predefined number of packets. Each packet includes a predetermined number of segments. Each of the segments defines a starting point of a memory access. A packet decoder coupled to the memory cell array receives packet select inputs for selecting a packet. A segment decoder coupled to the memory cell array receives segment select inputs for selecting a segment. A data flow multiplexer is coupled to the memory cell array for transferring data between a data bus and the memory cell array. Command and mode registers receive command, read/write (R/W) and chip select (CS) inputs for opening a packet. Responsive to an opened packet, the packet select inputs provide a length for the memory access. Each of the segments has a preprogrammed length. Also each of the segments can be defined for a cache line.

  • Patent number: 6302895
Abstract: A medical retrieval device includes a handle, a sheath, and a basket having basket legs and an atraumatic distal tip. The atraumatic tip of the basket is formed, for example, by entwining the ends of the basket legs together at the distal tip of the basket. Baskets with atraumatic tips according to the invention allow the capture of material from difficult to reach areas of the body while reducing the risk of tissue damage.

  • Publication number: 20010022294
Abstract: A stud welding gun for alternatively welding studs of a first and second length to base members. The gun includes a stud feed member for moving a stud toward a stud holder. The gun further includes at least two stud cartridges each having a plurality of studs in side by side array and opposed end walls extending between first and second side walls. A first cartridge has end walls spaced a distance equal to studs having the first length. A second cartridge has end walls spaced a distance equal to studs having the second length. At least one of the side walls of each cartridge extends to a pre-determined overall length. A housing is adapted to receive the cartridges placing the studs in the path of the stud feed member. The gun includes a stud mover that sequentially moves the studs into the path of the stud feed member.

  • Patent number: 6283720
Abstract: A reciprocating pump includes a cylinder with a closed interior compartment. A piston assembly has a dispensing end and an opposed end and is moveably mounted within the compartment for reciprocating movement in opposed linear directions between opposed ends of the closed interior compartment. A linear magnetic drive generates a linearly moving magnetic field for moving the piston assembly in opposed linear directions through a swept volume in each of said opposed linear directions, one of said linear directions being a dispensing stroke and the other of said linear directions being a suction stroke. A sealing member is provided between the cylinder and the piston assembly to divide the interior compartment of the cylinder into a dispensing chamber and a reservoir chamber.

  • Patent number: 6260855
Abstract: An apparatus for holding a workpiece in a predetermined position in a machine tool. The apparatus has an axis of rotation and comprises an outer body having an outer surface, an inner bore, a first end and a second end with the second end being insertable into a tapered opening of a spindle of the machine tool. The outer body includes means projecting radially from the outer surface for abutment against a face of the spindle for stopping inward movement of the apparatus upon achieving a predetermined final position in the spindle. A portion of the outer surface adjacent the stop means and extending toward the second end is inwardly tapered by an amount whereby the taper of the outer surface is generally equal to the taper of the spindle opening. The workholding apparatus includes a connector attached to the second end of the outer body, the connector having a first end insertable into the second end of the outer body and a second end comprising a plurality of spaced-apart lugs extending radially outward.

  • Patent number: 6116027
Abstract: Pressurized byproduct gas from an air separation system is work expanded and the resulting work is used to compress supplemental feed air which is combined with a main feed air stream to supply a total air feed to the air separation system. Supplemental air can be provided only during off-design operation when the main feed air stream is insufficient to provide the total air feed to the system. Alternatively, supplemental air can be used continuously in combination with a reduced main feed air stream to provide total feed air to the system.

  • Patent number: 4838138
Abstract: A scroll saw blade clamp and blade alignment tool to facilitate blade changes while assuring proper positioning and alignment of the blade. The blade clamp is for the upper end of the blade and includes a pair of clamp bars, one of which is pivoted to the upper saw arm. A locking screw clamps the bars together for clamping of the blade, and a strategically located pin prevents relative rotation of the clamp bars and also serves as a blade guide to properly locate the blade while it is being clamped in place. The alignment device takes the form of a flat bar provided with a recess for holding the lower blade clamp. A groove in the bar is centered on the recess to properly align a saw blade received in the groove.

  • Patent number: 4365117
Abstract: An electronic hold circuit for a telephone which is actuated by a hold command signal produced by a momentary depression of the telephone hook switch. The hold circuit is connected across the telephone lines and includes circuitry for discriminating between a hold command signal present on the telephone lines and dialing, ringing and hand-up signals. When a hold command signal is detected, a holding impedance is connected across the telephone lines thereby maintaining the connection at the central office.
