  • Publication number: 20160135498
Abstract: The present invention is a smoking device which departs from a traditional “bowl and stem design utilized for centuries, and rather comprises a series of generally cylindrically shaped layers that when stacked and secured together provide the user an effective means to safely store, transport and smoke a plurality of smoking materials. The smoking device may incorporate a bowl selection ranging in number between seven (7) to an unlimited amount, depending upon the size, desired portability and intended use. A rotatable bowl selector dial which positions a flame inlet over one of the plurality of bowls in an adjacent smoking material retention cartridge offers a means for easy bowl selection. The user may draw from the plurality of smoking materials without inhaling smoke from, or through excess burnt ash. The smoking device may further be utilized as a practical means of proportionally and consistently regulating each draw of tobacco smoke.

  • Patent number: 9256899
Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable medium are disclosed for separating the purchase of digital assets from their fulfillment. Information associated with the purchase of a system and digital assets to be processed by the system is received, including the system's unique system identifier. The unique system identifier is associated with the digital assets to generate digital assets entitlement data. A personalization agent installed on the system determines the system's unique system identifier and automatically downloads the purchased digital assets and their associated digital assets entitlement data. Once downloaded, the personalization agent uses the digital assets entitlement data to install the purchased digital assets on the system, thereby entitling the system to process the installed digital assets.

  • Patent number: 9235399
Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable medium are disclosed for separating the installation of an operating system from the fulfillment, installation, and entitlement of other digital assets. Information associated with the purchase of a system and digital assets to be processed by the system is received, including the system's unique system identifier. The unique system identifier is associated with the digital assets to generate digital assets entitlement data. A personalization agent installed on the system determines the system's unique system identifier and automatically downloads the purchased digital assets, which comprises an operating system (OS), and their associated digital assets entitlement data. Once downloaded, the personalization agent uses the digital assets entitlement data to first install the OS according to any restrictions imposed by the OS manufacturer, and then the remaining digital assets, on the system, which is then entitled to process the installed digital assets.

  • Patent number: 9155354
Abstract: The present invention is an insole topper pad adapted to provide an absorbent perspiration barrier between the bottom surface of the bare human foot and the top surface of a shoe's insole or footbed. The insole topper pad enables a user to easily transition from going barefoot to wearing shoes in a sockless manner, while further retaining a relatively hygienic environment within the shoe. The insole topper pad may be easily inserted in, or removed from, articles of footwear, and conveniently laundered on a daily basis. Further, the worry of unhealthy and embarrassing odors produced from prolonged bacteria build-up within a shoe may be substantially reduced. While eliminating the need for traditional socks, the insole topper pad allows the user to comfortably and sanitarily adapt to fashion and lifestyle trends which have significantly shifted, exposing the bare lower leg and ankle portion of the foot while wearing low rise shoes.

  • Patent number: 9100396
Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable medium are disclosed for managing a system's entitlement to digital assets when the system's components are replaced. A unique system identifier, comprising the unique identifiers of predetermined system components, is associated with digital assets data to generate digital assets entitlement data, which in turn entitles the system to process the digital assets data. The digital assets entitlement is perpetuated when a first unique system component identifier is replaced with a second unique system component identifier.

  • Patent number: 8892451
Abstract: A data logging device tracks the operation of a vehicle or driver actions. The device includes a storage device, which may be removable or portable, having a first memory portion that may be read from and may be written to in a vehicle and a second memory portion that may be read from and may be written to in the vehicle. The second memory portion may retain data attributes associated with the data stored in the first removable storage device. A processor reads data from an automotive bus that transfers data from vehicle sensors to other automotive components. The processor writes data to the first memory portion and the second memory portion that reflect a level of risk or safety. A communication device links the storage device to a network of computers. The communication device may be accessible through software that allows a user to access files.

  • Patent number: 8607359
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for authenticating a removable data storage device (RDSD) by using a trusted information module (TIM) to control access to data files stored on the RDSD. A security information input receiver receives identity verification factors from a user and provides the identity verification factors to the TIM for processing. In some embodiments of the invention, the TIM uses identity verification factors in cryptographic operation to authenticate the user, the RDSD and the information processing system to each other. The TIM then performs similar operations with the contents of one or more authorization files to control access and usage of the data files stored on the RDSD.
