    Abstract: A meter is disclosed for measuring the dielectric constant of a particulate material, particularly grain, as a function of its moisture content. The meter includes a test cell for containing a sample of the particulate material to be tested. A single oscillator includes a variable frequency tuned circuit for varying the frequency of the single oscillator output. The tuned circuit includes a test cell capacitor using a sample of material to be tested as a dielectric, a calibrated variable standard capacitor and a variable trimming capacitor. An indicator is coupled to the calibrated variable standard capacitor to display a value representing the capacitance setting of the calibrated variable standard capacitor. A frequency monitor compares the output frequency of the oscillator with a selected frequency and a null display displays the difference between the output frequency of the oscillator and the selected frequency.

    Abstract: An apparatus for the activation of a remote device having a transmitter to generate and transmit user-set special coded signals. The transmitter has a function selector switch to select modes of operation for the transmitter. Included is also a receiver to receive the user-set special coded signals, and the receiver also has a function selector switch to select modes of operation for the receiver. The function selector switch selects the following modes of operation for the transmitter: (a) a “transmit/fire” mode that enables a fire signal to be transmitted to the receiver; (b) a “wake-up” mode that enables a set-up receiver mode for immediate firing; (c) a program mode for low power transmission of programmed codes; and (d) a “test” and operational mode that enables an operational test of the apparatus with no firing output.

The system comprises:a) a plurality of first magnets adapted to be surgically implanted between the skin of the defined portion of the person's scalp and the person's skull, said first magnets being shaped like flat disks and coated with a hypoallergenic material; andb) a hairpiece adapted to cover the defined portion of the person's scalp, said hairpiece comprising:(i) a base fabric;(ii) a plurality of fibers secured to one side of the base fabric; and(iii) a plurality of second magnets, said second magnets being fastened to the other side of the base fabric. After the first magnets are implanted beneath the scalp, the hairpiece is secured to the scalp by magnetic attraction between the first and second magnets.
