Abstract: An integrated circuit (IC) processor chip apparatus includes multiple processor chips on a substrate. At least one of the multiple processor chips includes a die with a primary interconnect trunk for communication of information between multiple compute elements situated along the primary interconnect trunk. That multiple processor chip includes a secondary interconnected trunk that may be oriented perpendicular with respect to the primary interconnect trunk. The secondary interconnect trunk communicates information off-chip via a number of I/O interfaces at the perimeter of that multiple processor chip. • Publication number: 20090248077
Abstract: A spine stabilization for the prophylactic treatment of adjacent level disease. A first vertebral level may be fused by advancing a pedicle screw in the first and second vertebrae and coupling the bone screws to a rigid portion of a rod. A conformable ligature may be passed around a non-pedicle portion of a third vertebra and coupled to a dynamic portion of the rod using a blocking body. The dynamic properties of the dynamic portion of the rod allow movement of the third vertebra relative to the first and second vertebrae to slow down or prevent Adjacent Level Disease in the third vertebra.

  • Patent number: 7594799
Abstract: A turbine or compressor blade assembly includes a blade fixed to a dovetail section attachable to a wheel. The dovetail section has a dovetail shaped to fit in a correspondingly shaped slot in the wheel. A dovetail platform serves as an interface between the blade and the dovetail. An undercut fillet radius is formed at an intersection of the dovetail platform and a dovetail pressure surface, where the undercut radius has a multi-part profile shape configured to attenuate edge of contact stresses. An additional feature is the area where the undercut radius transitions into the P-cut area at the forward end (leading edge) of the dovetail.

  • Publication number: 20090220327
Abstract: A handling apparatus can be used to transfer objects from a first location to a second location along a defined path, without the need for a conveyor along the path. Instead, the handling apparatus can be moved along the path by a controllable transport device, such as a robot arm. The handling apparatus can comprise a plurality of unpowered rollers which are selectively rotated by way of a transfer assist mechanism during loading and/or unloading of the objects to be transferred. The transfer assist mechanism can comprise a separate component that can power the rollers directly or indirectly. The transfer assist mechanism can comprise a belt which imparts rotational force to the support rollers via contact in some embodiments, with the amount of force controlled by varying the relative inclination of the support rollers and the transfer assist mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7584329
Abstract: A cache coherent data processing system includes at least first and second coherency domains each including at least one processing unit and a cache memory. The cache memory includes a cache controller, a data array including a data storage location for caching a memory block, and a cache directory. The cache directory includes a tag field for storing an address tag in association with the memory block and a coherency state field associated with the tag field and the data storage location. The coherency state field has a plurality of possible states including a state that indicates that the address tag is valid, that the storage location does not contain valid data, and that the memory block is possibly cached outside of the first coherency domain.

  • Publication number: 20090216502
Abstract: An article of manufacture and method is disclosed to design an interior space having a plurality of components that includes displaying a plurality of interior design elements each having a common first attribute within a first attribute group, with the first attribute associated with a first interior space component. Further, the method of designing the interior space includes displaying a plurality of interior design elements each having a common second attribute within a second attribute group, with the second attribute associated with a second interior space component. Continuing, the method of designing the interior space includes selecting one the interior design elements from each group defined by the first attribute and second attribute. • Publication number: 20090207055
Abstract: A computer receives data from a keyboard having one or more keys which cause generation of keyboard data that quantitatively describe the relative force applied to those keys. The keyboard data are transmitted in an HID report containing identifiers for one or more keys that have been pressed and force data for each key. The force data may be a multi-bit value quantifying the key force, or a null indicator signaling that the key is not force-sensing. Keyboard data messages are then prepared which identify keys pressed, contain force data, and may indicate whether the force data updates previous force data. Force updates are only provided to application programs registering for key force data. In other aspects of the invention, key repeat messages are automatically generated for a key held pressed by a user. The key repeat messages are generated at a rate controlled by the amount of force applied to the key.

  • Publication number: 20090199915
Abstract: A fluid controller includes a first fluid meter defining a first plurality of volume chambers and a second fluid meter defining a second plurality of volume chambers. A selector assembly, disposed between the first fluid meter and the second fluid meter, includes a selector plate defining a bore and a selector valve disposed in the bore. The selector valve is adapted for rotational movement between a first position and a second position and includes a first face and an oppositely disposed second face. The selector valve defines a plurality of thru-passages that extend axially through the first and second faces and that is adapted to provide fluid communication between the first and second volume chambers in the first position. The selector valve defines a groove disposed on the second face. The groove recirculates fluid from the second plurality of volume chambers when the selector valve is in the second position.

  • Publication number: 20090202442
Abstract: Alternative cellular energy pigments (ACE-pigments) provide a source of cellular energy other than that provided through the oxidative metabolism of foods, or in the case of plants and certain bacteria, through the process of photosynthesis. In some patients, ACE pigments exist in a form that can be further energized or activated using ultraviolet (UV) light, especially if the reaction is initially triggered by the presence of suitable dyes, such as neutral red. A method is described to further enhance the activation of the ACE pathway in humans and animals deprived of ACE. The method comprises using natural or man-made sources of ACE products (enerceuticals), with or without the inclusion of a suitable dye, such as neutral red; and applying the material(s) to the skin, either directly or separated by an impermeable barrier; and illuminating the enerceutical with a UV light source.

  • Publication number: 20090198867
Abstract: A computer implemented method, a processor chip, a data processing system, and computer program product in a data processing system process information in a store cache of a data processing system. The store cache receives a first entry that includes a first address indicating a first segment of a cache line. The store cache then receives a second entry including a second address indicating a second segment of the cache line. Responsive to the first segment not being equal to the second segment, the first entry is chained to the second entry.

  • Publication number: 20090192865
Abstract: Group profiling with offers distributed through affinity groups is provided. Each affinity group has members who have pre-existing relationships with the affinity group. Savings offers from sponsors are distributed to affinity group members. A member of an affinity group accesses and receives one or more offers through a forum, such as a website, established by the same affinity group. Each distributed offer includes an identifier that is associated with a product and is associated with the affinity group of the member receiving the offer. Upon redemption of an offer at a store, redemption data is recorded and used for profiling the affinity group associated with the identifier of the redeemed offer. The group profiling enables sponsors to find the reach, relevance, and influence of the affinity groups and enables affinity groups to find the most valued offers for their members.

  • Publication number: 20090181467
Abstract: Alternative cellular energy pigments (ACE-pigments) provide a source of cellular energy other than that provided through the oxidative metabolism of foods, or in the case of plants and certain bacteria, through the process of photosynthesis. In some patients, ACE pigments exist in a form that can be further energized or activated using ultraviolet (UV) light, especially if the reaction is initially triggered by the presence of suitable dyes, such as neutral red. A method is described to assess the energy status of the ACE pathway in an individual or animal and also a method that involves the use of UV light in conjunction with a suitable dye, for activating the pathway in those individuals or animals in which the pathway is not fully charged. Kits for these purposes are also described.
