Patent number: 8146146Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed whereby databases containing information related to an IP address are accessed directly from within a threat management software tool. When an alert is generated, an element within that alert, such as an IP address, is linked to one or more databases internal to an organization containing information related to the location or identity of a user or computer at a particular IP address. If no matches for that element are found in internal databases, a search of a registry of IP addresses is conducted. Finally, if the searches of internal and external databases are inadequate, an active scan of the device at that particular IP address or a router associated with that IP address is conducted. In this way, information related to a security threat is easily and efficiently obtained to enable a security analyst to better isolate that threat.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 2005Date of Patent: March 27, 2012Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property II, L.P.Inventors: John L. Publication number: 20110208850Abstract: A disclosed method for implementing anti-tracking measures for a web browser includes refreshing anti-tracking data structure responsive to satisfying at least one of a set of anti-tracking refresh criteria. The anti-tracking data structure may include opt-out cookie data indicative of a set of opt-out cookies, uniform resource locator (URL) anti-tracking data indicative of a set of URLs associated with URL tracking, and Referer header field anti-tracking data indicative of a set of URLs susceptible to Referer header field tracking. Responsive to a web browser of a user device generating a request for a third-party web page specified by a browser URL, at least a portion of the browser URL is compared against the anti-tracking data structure. If a match in the URL anti-tracking data or the Referer header field anti-tracking data is detected, the browser URL may be modified. The refreshing of anti-tracking data may include pulling a current anti-tracking data structure from an anti-tracking server.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 25, 2010Publication date: August 25, 2011Applicant: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Daniel G. Patent number: 7975286Abstract: A method and apparatus for evaluating one or more assets for compliance to at least one network security policy are disclosed. For example, the method receives a request for evaluating at least one asset for compliance to at least one security policy. The method then performs an evaluation of compliance on the at least one asset to determine compliance of the at least one asset to the at least one security policy. The method then records a result of the evaluation of compliance into a database. Finally, the method tracks the at least one asset that has been deemed to be non-compliant to the at least one security policy over a period of time.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 2006Date of Patent: July 5, 2011Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property II, L.P.Inventors: Kathryn Lynn Fickey, William A. O'Hern, John Francis Wallace, Debra Ann Walling, Deborah Ann Wilkinson

Publication number: 20110083185Abstract: A method for locating and monitoring websites is provided that includes finding websites and contained hyperlinks, downloading a first snapshot of a web page taken at a first time, and downloading a second snapshot of the web page taken at a second time later than the first time. The method also includes enabling a comparison of the first snapshot and the second snapshot. A system for monitoring websites is provided. The system includes means for enabling a comparison of the first snapshot and the second snapshot visually or through the use of content data from that web site. A computer-readable recording medium having recorded thereon an executable program is provided. The program when executed causes a processor to perform a method for monitoring websites.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 7, 2009Publication date: April 7, 2011Applicant: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Daniel Sheleheda, Edward G. Publication number: 20100153566Abstract: Requested content is monitored and metadata for the content is accessed and reported to an administrator communication device. The reported metadata may be indicative of a classification of the requested content, an address of the requested content, a title of the requested content, or portions (e.g., video images) of the requested content. Administrators are enabled to receive dynamic updates regarding requested and received content in real time and may block viewer requested content or send messages to the viewer that are related to the content.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 12, 2008Publication date: June 17, 2010Applicant: AT&T Services, Inc.Inventors: Daniel G. Publication number: 20100148963Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods are disclosed which relate to a network of RFID readers which detect a location of an RFID transmitter coupled to a portable device. The network of RFID readers transmits the location to a user. The RFID transmitter couples to any personal device and broadcasts a unique ID. The nearest RFID reader(s) receive the unique ID and alert a server in communication with the network of RFID readers. The server calculates the distance of the RFID transmitter from each RFID reader receiving the unique ID. The server triangulates the location of the RFID transmitter when three or more RFID readers are receiving the unique ID. The server then securely transmits the location of the RFID transmitter to the user of the portable device. The user receives the transmission through a secure receiver.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 11, 2008Publication date: June 17, 2010Applicant: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventor: William A. Publication number: 20100121881Abstract: Images transferred and received via a mobile device are logged. At a network node, images transferred to or from the mobile device are received and then stored on a network data storage device. Access to the images on the network data storage device is provided only to an authorized user. The images may be saved within a sliding time window. An authorized user may restrict future communication between the mobile device and another mobile device which received or sent an image.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 11, 2008Publication date: May 13, 2010Applicant: AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P.Inventor: William O'Hern
