  • Publication number: 20190145250
Abstract: In accordance with presently disclosed embodiments, a method and system for performing real-time evaluation of a restimulation operation using coiled tubing with fiber optics is provided. The method involves performing a restimulation treatment by pumping a slurry with diverter materials through an annulus in the wellbore surrounding the coiled tubing, and using fiber optics in the coiled tubing to identify the order and magnitude of fractures being created during the restimulation treatment. The fiber optics in the coiled tubing may include one or more fiber optic cables designed to collect distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) or distributed temperature sensing (DTS) data. The evaluation of the restimulation operation may be used to validate and/or adjust the restimulation treatment as needed to improve the lateral distribution of transverse fractures through a subterranean formation. The coiled tubing may also be used to remove sand bridges from the wellbore throughout the restimulation treatment.

  • Publication number: 20190120036
Abstract: A method of fracturing a subterranean formation to produce fluid from a reservoir through a wellbore includes flowing a treating fluid into the wellbore to create fractures in the formation, selectively flowing a flow constraint material (FCM) into the wellbore simultaneously with the treating fluid, pausing the flow of the FCM while maintaining the flow of the treating fluid, monitoring a parameter of the formation to determine whether the parameter is within a range, resuming the flow of the FCM when the parameter of the formation is out of the range, ceasing the flow of the FCM when the parameter of the formation is in the range, where a system strain increase is about 0.0003 or less when the parameter of the formation is in range, and where the flow of the flow constraint material partially constrains the treating fluid from entering at least one of the fractures.

  • Patent number: 10267133
Abstract: Systems and methods for fracturing an interval of a subterranean formation to produce fluid from a reservoir through a wellbore. A treating fluid flows into the wellbore to create fractures in the formation. A flow constraint material is selectively flowed into the wellbore simultaneously with the treating fluid. A parameter of the formation is monitored to determine whether a formation system strain is within a range. When the formation system strain is out of the range, the flow of the flow constraint material is adjusted. The flow constraint material partially constrains the treating fluid from entering a fracture so as to at least partially redistribute the treating fluid to an another fracture or fractures.

  • Publication number: 20180344556
Abstract: A soft-walled inflatable cradle (10) has a seat section (14), a back-support section (16), and a pair of opposed side panel sections (18, 20) extending between respective sides of the back-support and the seat. The cradle is positioned about a patient in an un-inflated condition and inflated to define a self-supporting seat structure. The cradle may be formed in at least two separable parts which can be positioned about a patient and connected together prior to inflation. The cradle may be used in co-operation with apparatus which include rollers over which the inflated cradle is moved. Methods of handling a patient using the cradle are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9617465
Abstract: A method of treating a subterranean formation includes combining self-degrading particles with a carrier fluid, placing the self-degrading particles and the carrier fluid into a zone in a formation, said zone comprising fractures, allowing the self-degrading materials to penetrate and plug off the connection to existing fractures and to bridge off fracture propagation near the wellbore, and initiating a re-fracture treatment comprising re-fracture fluids and proppant materials prior to the degradation of the self-degrading particles.

  • Patent number: 9522287
Abstract: Switching power supplies made in accordance with the disclosed technology drive flash lamps of dermatologic treatment devices to emit a sequence of relatively small light pulses that are aligned with particular locations within the waveform of the AC line source. Such power supplies not only enable sufficient light energy in aggregate to therapeutically heat target chromophores in a skin region without causing undesired damage to surrounding tissue, but also provide the added benefit that the corresponding electrical energy need not be substantially drawn from any charged capacitor. The disclosed power supply further compensates for performance degradation of the flash lamps during their usable life, by modifying its operation based on predetermined values that are indicative of flash lamp aging/efficiency characteristics. The flash lamps and their associated stored values are preferably incorporated into a replaceable cartridge that facilitates user maintenance of the dermatologic treatment device.
