  • Publication number: 20160185825
Abstract: The invention relates to an engineered outer domain (eOD) of HIV gp120 and mutants thereof and methods of making and using the same. The mutant eODs may be advantageous for the elicitation of CD4-binding site (CD4bs)-directed broadly-neutralizing antibodies (bnAbs) and/or improve binding to mature VRC01 and/or improve binding to germline VRC01 and the germlines of other VH1-2 derived broadly-neutralizing antibodies. The mutant eODs may also include glycan-masking mutations on eOD. The present invention also includes fusions of eOD to various protein multimers to enhance immunogenicity as well as the design of cocktails of different eODs that represent the full diversity of HIV sequences within the VRC01 epitope and surroundings.

  • Patent number: 9332737
Abstract: A bird feeder is provided having adjustable port access. The feeder includes a seed reservoir with a side wall that has at least one seed access opening and an adjustable feed port element. According to one embodiment, the adjustable feed port element is a feed port assembly. The feed port assembly includes a base with a rotatable insert having a perch coupled thereto in fixed relationship so that the perch and insert rotate as a unit. According to another embodiment, the adjustable feed port element rotates around the perch between a first position in which the perch is below a feed port being accessed, enabling birds to feed while standing on the perch, and a second position in which the perch is above a feed port being accessed, requiring birds to hang upside down from the perch to feed.

  • Publication number: 20160110919
Abstract: An augmented reality system is provided and a method for controlling an augmented reality system are provided. The augmented reality system, for example, may include, but is not limited to a display, a memory, and at least one processor communicatively coupled to the display and memory, the at least one processor configured to generate image data having a first resolution at a first rate, store the generated image data in the memory, and transfer a portion of the generated image data having a second resolution to the display from the memory at a second rate, wherein the second rate is faster than the first rate and the second resolution is smaller than the first resolution. This dual rate system then enables a head-tracked augmented reality system to be updated at the high rate, reducing latency based artifacts.

  • Patent number: 9162032
Abstract: A method for diagnosing and treating sleep disorders with a sleep therapy auto-titrator for in-home use by the patient includes the step of collecting, recording and analyzing sleep data in real time with the auto-titrator. Corrective action is provided in real time to the patient to mitigate sleep events based upon the collected sleep data. The collected sleep data is transmitted, via a global computer information system, to a remote server for storage. The stored sleep data is analyzed by a computer programmed with an algorithm to monitor therapy effectiveness daily and for identifying one or more therapy intervention recommendations. An alert is provided to at least one of the patient or a sleep therapy professional associated with the patient communicating the one or more intervention recommendations.

  • Patent number: 9142352
Abstract: An electrolytic capacitor capable of operating at 75 g or greater is provided having a case with a base and a lid, with a wound capacitor element positioned on its side, lengthwise along the bottom of the base and with the underside of the lid pressed against the length of the capacitor element, to frictionally engage the capacitor element. The case is provided with inwardly projecting surfaces, including a bulkhead at one end of the capacitor element and ridges on the lid, which function as barriers to restrict movement of the capacitor element within the case. A compartment is created at one end of the case, to allow space for terminals, which are embedded in a non-conductive support matrix.

  • Publication number: 20150257613
Abstract: A wipe container assembly includes a casing defining a chamber, a first electrode disposed within the chamber and a second electrode disposed within the chamber and spaced apart from the first electrode to define a spacing. The wipe container assembly includes a salt and water solution disposed within the chamber such that electrolyzed water is generated within the chamber from the salt and water solution when a bias is applied to one of the first electrode or second electrode to cause a current to flow through the salt and water solution within the spacing. The wipe container assembly includes an extraction port coupled to the casing and defining a wipe opening such that a wipe removed through the wipe opening is impregnated with the electrolyzed water. The wipe is impregnated with the electrolyzed water by coming into contact with the electrolyzed water within the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20150205724
Abstract: A method comprises dividing a main memory into a plurality of pools, the plurality of pools including a first pool and one or more second pools, wherein the first pool is only associated with a set of one or more lines in a first cache such that data in the first pool is only cached in the first cache and wherein the one or more second pools are each associated with one or more lines in a second cache and data in the second cache is cacheable by the first cache. The method further comprises assigning each of a plurality of threads to one of the plurality of pools and determining if a memory region being accessed belongs to the first pool. If the memory region being accessed belongs to the first pool, bypassing the second cache to temporarily store data from the memory region in the first cache.
