  • Publication number: 20230007327
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for managing subscriptions. A media guidance application obtaining viewing patterns of a subscriber and determining a first and second media package of interest to the subscriber. A first and second release schedule are obtained related to media content in the first and second media packages. The media guidance application predicts a first viewing impact of the first subscription and a second viewing impact of the second subscription, for the upcoming time period, wherein the viewing impact indicates a total predicted amount of time spent viewing the media packages in the upcoming time period. An available amount of time for viewing media in the upcoming time period is also determined. The media guidance application generates a subscription recommendation for the upcoming time period based on the first viewing impact, second viewing impact, and available amount of time for viewing media in the upcoming time period.

  • Patent number: 11535850
Abstract: The present disclosure relates methods and compositions useful for prevention of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSv) in animals, including animals of the species Sus scrofa. The present teachings relate to swine wherein at least one allele of a CD163 gene has been inactivated, and to specific methods and nucleic acid sequences used in gene editing to inactivate the CD163 gene. Swine wherein both alleles of the CD163 gene are inactivated are resistant to porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSv). Elite lines comprising homozygous CD163 edited genes retain their superior properties.

  • Patent number: 11532011
Abstract: A promotion processing system may include a point-of-sale terminal at a store to collect purchased product identifiers from products being purchased, and a promotion generation server. The server may obtain the collected purchased product identifiers from the point-of-sale terminal, determine a store-transaction count based upon the collected purchased product identifiers, and for each purchased product identifier, map the corresponding product to an aisle location within the store. The server may determine a corresponding aisle-transaction count for the aisle location corresponding to each product based upon the mapped aisle locations, and determine shopper paths of travel within the store based upon the store- and aisle-transaction counts. The server may identify a location within the store for an aisle violator sign for a promoted product located in one of the aisle locations based upon the shopper paths of travel and the aisle-transaction counts, and generate a digital promotion for the promoted product.

  • Publication number: 20220383810
Abstract: Described is a display system comprising a light source, a scanning assembly, and a controller. The light source includes a first plurality of emitters forming a column that emits a first color. The light source also includes a second plurality of emitters forming a column that emits a different color. The scanning assembly includes a reflective surface rotated by the controller using a control signal having a nonlinear, pulsed waveform. The controller drives the first plurality of emitters and the second plurality of emitters in sequence, during respective portions of the nonlinear waveform, and in synchronization with rotation of the reflective surface such that light emitted by the first plurality of emitters and the second plurality of emitters is reflected onto a same pixel of an output image. The controller also adjusts emission durations of individual emitters to compensate for changes in the rotational speed of the reflective surface.

  • Patent number: 11509861
Abstract: The interactive and shared surface technique described herein employs hardware that can project on any surface, capture color video of that surface, and get depth information of and above the surface while preventing visual feedback (also known as video feedback, video echo, or visual echo). The technique provides N-way sharing of a surface using video compositing. It also provides for automatic calibration of hardware components, including calibration of any projector, RGB camera, depth camera and any microphones employed by the technique. The technique provides object manipulation with physical, visual, audio, and hover gestures and interaction between digital objects displayed on the surface and physical objects placed on or above the surface. It can capture and scan the surface in a manner that captures or scans exactly what the user sees, which includes both local and remote objects, drawings, annotations, hands, and so forth.

  • Publication number: 20220366385
Abstract: After loss of communications between a cash handling device and a financial institution, transactions may continue to be processed. In one configuration, the transactions may be processed up to a predefined transaction limit. Transaction limits may be defined by a number of transactions, a dollar amount transacted or to be transacted, an amount of time and/or combinations thereof. Additionally or alternatively, the transaction limit may be specific to one or more types of transactions. Transaction data may be stored in memory until communication has been re-established, at which time the data may be transmitted to the financial institution for processing.

  • Publication number: 20220362886
Abstract: A method of making a component includes: depositing a metallic powder on a workplane; directing a beam from a directed energy source to fuse the powder in a pattern corresponding to a cross-sectional layer of the component; repeating in a cycle the steps of depositing and fusing to build up the component in a layer-by layer fashion; and during the cycle of depositing and melting, using an external heat control apparatus separate from the directed energy source to maintain a predetermined temperature profile of the component, such that the resulting component has a directionally-solidified or single-crystal microstructure.

  • Patent number: 11484970
Abstract: An additive manufacturing system including a housing configured to contain a powder bed of material, and an array of laser emitters having a field of view. The array is configured to melt at least a portion of the powder bed within the field of view as the array translates relative to the powder bed. The system further includes a spatter collection device including a diffuser configured to discharge a stream of gas across the powder bed, and a collector configured to receive the stream of gas and contaminants entrained in the stream of gas. The collector is spaced from the diffuser such that a collection zone is defined therebetween, and the spatter collection device is configured to translate relative to the powder bed such that the collection zone overlaps with the field of view of the array.
