  • Patent number: 7492976
Abstract: This invention provides a flat dispersion frequency discriminator (FDFD) capable of having a substantially flat dispersion with either a positive or negative dispersion along the spectrum region of the discriminator. This way, a FDFD may not cause substantial distortion of the intensity patter of its output to minimize the occurrence distortion due to overshooting or undershooting of the intensity pattern depending on the relative spectral alignment of the laser output relative to the filter transmission.

  • Publication number: 20080091678
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products for estimating changes in an object represented by first and second multidimensional datasets. The first dataset is a reference dataset and the second dataset is an altered dataset. Discrete data samples of the first dataset are processed to form a piecewise continuous representation thereof. An error function is computed for comparisons between discrete data samples in the second dataset and the piecewise continuous representation of the first dataset. An alteration of the second dataset relative to the first dataset that minimizes the error function is determined.

  • Publication number: 20080084775
Abstract: An integrated circuit includes first circuitry and sleep transistor circuitry. The first circuitry receives input signals and processes the input signals. The first circuitry also retains data in a sleep state that has low leakage. The sleep transistor circuitry is coupled to the first circuitry and receives a sleep signal. The sleep circuitry reduces power consumption of the first circuitry in the sleep state to have low leakage based on the sleep signal while retaining the data in the first circuitry.

  • Publication number: 20080061896
Abstract: Disclosed are multiphase oscillators comprising a plurality of delay stages serially coupled in a loop by a plurality of nodes, with the loop being folded to provide two concentric rings of delay stages with equal numbers of allocated nodes. A second plurality of negative-resistance elements are provided, each element having a first output coupled to a node on the first concentric ring and a second output coupled to a node on the second concentric ring. Each such output switches between first and second voltage levels, and provides a negative resistance to a signal coupled to it during at least a portion of the transition between voltage levels. The outputs of an element switch to opposite voltage levels. With this construction, a high-voltage pulse propagates around the loop of delay stages, with a low-voltage pulse propagating behind it. Also disclosed are circuits to control the direction of pulse propagation.

  • Publication number: 20080053347
Abstract: A pyrolyzer has a heated inner housing that includes first and second conveyors. Preferred conveyors have independent or at least potentially independent flows of material to be pyrolyzed. All suitable conveyors are contemplated, including especially screw conveyors, or combination of screw and paddle conveyors. Both first and second conveyors can be disposed within a common lumen, with a partial divider between them. An alternative divider is also contemplated that more or less divides the inner housing into two lumens. Thus, the lumens can be entirely distinct, or can have cross-flow of gases and/or material being pyrolyzed. Heat transfer fins can be advantageously attached, extend from, or be otherwise coupled to the inner housing to assist in transfer of heat into the lumen(s) of the inner housing.

  • Publication number: 20080052295
Abstract: A database record controls a license to use a computational component. An input receives an order identifier associated with an order related to a computational component and an interface retrieves order information associated with the identifier. The order information comprises at least one material code. • Publication number: 20070244720
Abstract: A system and method for creating and costing future care plans such as Life Care Plans, Medicare Set-Asides, and Medical Cost Projections is provided. The method uses standard procedure codes and fee schedules associated with the procedure codes. The method comprises storing a first code set in a database, receiving a second code set associated with a future care plan, in which the second code set is a subset of the first code set; comparing the first code set with the second code set to determine the common codes; associating the applicable fee from the fee schedule with each individual code; and generating an output file comprising the second code set with associated fees. The method also provides the capability of billing users based upon the number and nature of individual fee codes retrieved using the method.

  • Publication number: 20070231106
Abstract: The present invention is an anchoring device used in securing an attachment to an object or structure that has no attachable surface wherein this tool can be attached to said object to be lifted or pulled. This tool is made of a machined two-inch solid steel round stock, three feet long utilizing very aggressive No#4 thread lead by a 1½drill with a conical relief to avoid binding. By the use of aggressive screw threads on a very tough steel shaft and having the ability to use several different drill heads for penetration of objects thereby allowing the tool to lock or attach it self to the object. A winch and/or pulling devices can then connected to the tool pull ring and the object is pulled out or removed from the ground, water or both. The removal of this tool from an object is accomplished by turning the tool counter clockwise or until it is completely unscrewed.

  • Publication number: 20070151096
Abstract: A monolithic, multi-layer heating element (26, 126, 226) forms the high temperature tip (22, 122, 222) of a glow plug assembly (20). The heating element (26, 126, 226) includes a conductive core (48, 148, 248) which is surrounded by an insulator layer (50, 150, 250), which in turn supports a resistive layer (52, 152, 252). An optional conductive jacket (172) can surround the resistive layer (152). These layered components are pre-formed in prior operations and then assembled one into the other to form a precursor structure. The precursor structure is transferred to a die (54, 64, 164), where it is compressed to form a so-called green part having dimensional attributes proportional to the finished heating element (26, 126, 256). The individual layers remain substantially intact, with some boundary layer mixing possible to enhance material-to-material bonding. The green part is sintered to bond to various materials together into an essentially solid mass.
