  • Publication number: 20090055987
Abstract: An airflow system is provided for a welding helmet. The airflow system includes an air intake with a filter, a blower, and a battery mounted to the rear of headgear for a welding helmet. A manifold wraps around the side and front of the headgear and directs air from the blower to the front of the headgear. The manifold includes a lower vent for directing air onto a user's face and an upper vent for directing air over a user's head toward the rear of the headgear. The vents are intended to create positive pressure to impede the entry of unfiltered air into the user's breathing zone. The manifold further includes a portion of flexible tubing for adjusting the size of the airflow system in conjunction with adjustment of the headgear diameter. The airflow system generally conforms to the structure and shape of the headgear to maintain a location close to the user's head.

  • Publication number: 20070200338
Abstract: A multiple layer sheet assembly is provided with a liner having opposite inner and outer surfaces. A first face ply is formed from a first material and has an inner surface secured to a portion of the inner surface of the liner and an opposed outer surface. Die cuts extend substantially through the first face ply so that a portion of the first face ply is removable from the liner. A second face ply formed from a second material and has opposite inner and outer surfaces defining a thickness substantially equal to the thickness of the first face ply. The inner surface of the second face ply is secured to the inner surface of the liner so that the first and second face plies are in edge-to-edge relationship. Die cuts extend substantially through the second face ply to form a plurality of removable adhesive-backed labels.

  • Publication number: 20070119672
Abstract: An improvement to damping cylinders in which the damping fluid needs to be separated from a gas is disclosed. In particular, an annular bladder is used. An annular bladder allows for a control shaft to extend at least at least a portion of the length of the damping cylinder. This configuration effectively and simply reduces most issues that result from when an IFP is used for the same purpose.

  • Publication number: 20070085655
Abstract: A lock interface for a biometric lock is provided. The lock interface includes a body, a biometric sensor, and a biometric alignment feature. The biometric sensor is mounted to the body for reading a unique identifying characteristic of an individual. The alignment feature is associated with the sensor to assist a user in properly positioning the unique identifying characteristic with respect to the sensor. The present invention also includes a method for unlocking a safe using a biometric lock. The method comprises initiating the biometric lock by contacting the lock interface, recognizing a visual cue that indicates that a unique identifying characteristic is to be entered using the sensor, and entering the unique identifying characteristic feature using the sensor. The entered unique identifying characteristic is compared with a stored unique identifying characteristic, and the safe is unlocked if the unique identifying characteristic matches the stored unique identifying characteristic.

  • Publication number: 20070018464
Abstract: A hybrid blade wind turbine device formed of at least a pair of straight outer airfoil blades, and a pair of inner helical wing blades, as supported for rotation within a safety protective cage structure, which wind turbine can be mounted in the vertical, horizontal, or other aligned operational positions. The inner helical half wing blades, being preferably somewhat shorter than the length of the outer airfoil blades, act to “regularize” the swirling wind regime flowing through the hybrid wind turbine, so as to maximize the efficiency of the outer airfoil blades. The helical half wing blades can be formed of individual segmented vane segments to provide improved operational capabilities for the overall hybrid wind turbine. To best harness annualized available wind conditions, the hybrid wind turbine can be customized, through modification of the number of vane segments, the selection of the specific shape of the outer airfoil blades, and the specific operational positioning of the outer airfoil blades.

  • Publication number: 20050087953
Abstract: An off-road bicycle suspension fork includes a pair of fork leg assemblies, each of the leg assemblies having an upper leg telescopingly engaged with a lower leg. A damping assembly is provided in at least one of the legs and includes a cartridge tube connected to the lower leg and a piston connected to the upper tube by a shaft. The piston is telescopingly engaged with the cartridge tube to define a compression chamber below the piston. A control assembly is located at a top portion of the upper leg and is in communication with the compression chamber via a central passage of the shaft. A reservoir is defined between at least a portion of the lower tube and the cartridge. During compression of the suspension fork, fluid flows from the compression chamber, upward through the central passage of the shaft, through the control assembly and to the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 6647691
Abstract: A track arrangement for supporting wall studs is provided. The track arrangement includes a central longitudinal extension, first and second sidewalls and a first stud clip arrangement comprising a pair of stud clips. In a preferred embodiment, each clip comprises a portion of the sidewall bent inwardly, to form a cam surface and a stud ridge receiver. During use, the stud is forced toward the cam surface, bending the clip until a portion of the stud, specifically a stud ridge, is received in the stud ridge receiver. This will secure the stud in place, against undesired movement relative to the track. Wall assemblies are provided which preferably involve one such track arrangement positioned on the floor as a floor track, and one on the ceiling, as a ceiling track, with a stud extending therebetween. The wall framework assembly can be assembled as a slip track, or as a non-slip track.
