  • Publication number: 20090046201
Abstract: An apparatus for maintaining registration of a lens assembly in a consistent position over a sensor by positioning the sensor adjacent a sensor mount instead of a housing encompassing the lens assembly and sensor. The apparatus comprises a lens assembly having at least one predetermined focal center, and a lens barrel for holding the lens assembly. A holder adjustably supports the lens barrel, the holder having a base and a cylinder, with the lens barrel adjustably mounted in the cylinder. The base of the holder is attached to a support, such as a circuit board, whereby the focal center of the lens assembly is held in a predetermined aligned position relative to the sensor. In an embodiment, wall surfaces defining an opening in the base of the holder firmly engage the sidewalls of a ceramic sensor mount.

  • Publication number: 20090010490
Abstract: A method of identifying, tracking, and counting human objects of interest based upon at least one pair of stereo image frames taken by at least one image capturing device, comprising the steps of: obtaining said stereo image frames and converting each said stereo image frame to a rectified image frame using calibration data obtained for said at least one image capturing device; generating a disparity map based upon a pair of said rectified image frames; generating a depth map based upon said disparity map and said calibration data; identifying the presence or absence of said objects of interest from said depth map and comparing each of said objects of interest to existing tracks comprising previously identified objects of interest; for each said presence of an object of interest, adding said object of interest to one of said existing tracks if said object of interest matches said one existing track, or creating a new track comprising said object of interest if said object of interest does not match any of sai

  • Patent number: 4164696
Abstract: A variable reluctance motor wound for two-phase excitation is excited with single phase pulses, whereby the de-energization of one phase coil aids in the energization of the succeeding (and preceding) phase coil, in which a phase coil that is about to be de-energized is energized for a short period with maximum excitation energy power in order that the decay from that maximum power level, upon advance of the stepping motor, induces, by transformer action, an aiding voltage in the next succeeding phase coil so as to increase the speed of excitation of that next succeeding phase coil.
