  • Patent number: 6250517
Abstract: A food products container is disclosed having a cover with two integrally formed flaps for covering a plurality of cover openings, in particular a spooning opening and shaker openings. Skirts extending downward from the flaps engage their respective openings in the cover to seal them. The skirts that engage the openings extend downward and outward from the flaps at an angle. By extending outward and downward, the skirts engage and lock into the holes. A lip is provided at an outer edge of the cover on the flaps and on the non-rotating part of the cover to retain a second, identical container placed on top by engaging an outer indent in the bottom of the second container.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 16, 1999
Date of Patent: June 26, 2001
    Assignee: Gateway Plastics, Inc.
Inventors: John B. Samz, William C. Vogel

  • Patent number: 4762452
Abstract: An economical alternative to throw away lock nuts is provided by a retainer that fits to or over a conventionally threaded nut. Splines on the shaft, and resilient fingers on the retainer, are mismatched in number by one, assuring that they interfit with at least one finger blocked by a spline, or closed to it, so that the nut cannot be turned significantly back. The retainer can be easily removed, so that both it and the nut may be reused.

  • Patent number: 4142648
Abstract: A cap assembly for a fuel tank filler tube having a low profile housing. The outer shell of the cap is a dome-shaped sheet metal member backed by a dome-shaped impact resistant cap support member secured between the outer shell and the threaded closure portion of the cap assembly and urged into abutment with the outer shell by resilient fingers formed integrally with the cap support member. The assembly also includes valve means which are communicated with the interior of the tank and atmosphere through passages formed in the threaded closure member and the cap support member.
