  • Patent number: 5912947
Abstract: A public notification system includes a first database comprising phone numbers and one or more data fields associated with each phone number. Phone numbers (callees) in the first database are selected based on the data fields associated therewith. A recorded voice message is transmitted to callees through a plurality of outgoing phone lines, and callees are prompted to enter one of several dial codes, which is recorded. The database record for the callee is automatically updated based on the response dial code, so that the updated field may be used to select whether to send a future call to the callee. A second database comprising records identifying convicted criminals is also included in the public notification system. Each record in the second database comprises one or more data fields associated with a convicted criminal.

  • Patent number: 5535378
Abstract: The improved Quicksort method of the present invention utilizes two pointers initialized at opposite ends of the array or partition to be sorted and an initial partition value Pvalue located at the center of the array or partition. The value at each of the end pointers is then compared to Pvalue. Sorting is accomplished by recursing the partition process for the two array segments bounded on one side by the final P valve location. This method prevents excessive recursions, and allows the identical array case to recurse to the ideal minimum: Log2(N). Also, by relaxing the offsider criteria to include elements equal to Pvalue, the present invention presents arrays of two valves or a very small range of valves from recursing excessively. Further, the sorting method of the present invention may test the final position of the initial Pvalue to determine whether it is in the center (75%-95%) portion of the array or subarray being positioned.

  • Patent number: 5373951
Abstract: A laundry room support rack has a wire frame shelf supported by wire frame sides. Each wire frame side has three wire segments. A horizontal segment extends in the front to back direction. A vertical segment extends up from the back end of the horizontal segment. And a diagonal segment extends between an upper end of the vertical segment and a forward end of the horizontal segment. A cross member extends between the opposite upper ends, and has apertured portions for receiving wall fasteners. A front U-shaped segment has arms securely engaging the frame sides at positions near the front ends. The U-shaped segment has a horizontal base segment that permits the hanging of garment hangers thereon. The frame sides gain strength from the diagonal segments for supporting loads on the shelf and the horizontal base segment.

  • Patent number: 5240122
Abstract: A bicycle support rack generally comprises metal rod or wire elements welded together, including a single rod or wire element that is bent at its ends to form a pair of horizontally spaced rim hangers. Each rim hanger can removably support one bicycle off the ground by means of the rim of the front wheel. The rod or wire element that defines the rim hangers is also bent in its middle to form a shelf frame. A metal wire grill portion has outer edge margins joined to the shelf frame to define the surface of a shelf for supporting accessories like shoes, helmets and water bottles. Another single rod or wire element is bent to form a pair of segments for bracing the rim hangers. That last rod or wire element is also bent to form a pair of tire stops for urging the front wheels of two bicycles into alignment in vertical planes perpendicular to the wall.

  • Patent number: 5209359
Abstract: A tennis equipment support rack has a fixed frame in combination with a basket. The fixed frame includes a single wire element that is bent to form a basket support rack. The basket has a front, a back, and two opposite side walls. At the upper edges of the side walls there is a continuous peripheral wire that functions as a flange portion by which the basket is supported on the basket support rack. The basket is for containing accessories of the game like balls, towels, sweatbands, and so on, and is easily freed from the basket support rack for transport. The fixed frame has another single wire element that is bent to form a tennis racket support rack. The tennis racket support rack can removably support one or several tennis rackets. The forms of both the fixed frame and the basket permit them to be nested with additional fixed frames and baskets.

  • Patent number: 5199581
Abstract: A golf equipment support rack generally comprising metal wire elements welded together including a pair of wire elements bent to form golf bag hangers. These golf bag hangers are horizontally spaced and provide removable and upright support for a pair of golf bags by means of their upper carrying-strap rings. This golf equipment support rack also has a continuous wire loop bent to form side walls for preventing the golf bags from pivoting too freely and too far outwardly. This golf equipment support rack also has two wire elements bent to form golf shoe supports for two pair of shoes.
