  • Publication number: 20200132748
Abstract: Systems are provided to determine a location of an electrical fault in an electrical system of a vehicle. A test apparatus can include a control unit and a plurality of scan circuits. The control unit is configured to electrically couple the plurality of scan circuits to the electrical system and trigger the plurality of scan circuits to pass electrical signals to the electrical system. Each scan circuit is configured to detect a presence of an electrical fault in the electrical system based on an electrical signal passed. Each scan circuit provides information indicative of a location of the electrical fault in the electrical system, when detected, to the control unit.

  • Publication number: 20200102512
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to method and apparatus for preventing coke formation in reactor vapor feed nozzle of a fractionator column of a fluid catalytic cracking unit. One or more baffles are positioned within the fractionator column to prevent effluent vapor that is directed by the reactor vapor feed nozzle into the feed zone from flowing back into the reactor vapor feed nozzle. The reactor vapor feed nozzle itself, or an internal nozzle coupled to the reactor vapor feed nozzle, may extend at least partially into the feed zone to similarly act as a baffle.

  • Publication number: 20200094861
Abstract: A control system and method determine an energy demand associated with delivery of cargo in a trip. The energy demand represents how much electric energy is needed to move cargo vehicles that carry the cargo through the trip. Locations of energy tenders and states of charge of the energy tenders are determined. A schedule for the cargo vehicles to deliver the cargo to a delivery location within a delivery time slot is determined. This schedule is determined based on the energy demand, the locations of the energy tenders, and the states of charge of the energy tenders. The system and method direct which of the energy tenders that the cargo vehicles are to couple with, be powered by, and move with for powering the cargo along routes to the delivery location of the trip within the designated time slot.

  • Publication number: 20200047862
Abstract: A waler assembly for floating docks and walkways includes an elongate metal extrusion for engaging the side of a series of adjoining float components. The extrusion includes a compartment for conformably receiving an elongate wedge. Connector rods join the extrusion and wedge to the float components. The extrusion carries an elongate strengthening plate that extends across the compartment of the extrusion. Each of the extrusion, wedge and strengthening plate includes a plurality of discrete segments that are aligned end to end. The joints between adjoining segments of the waler assembly are offset to provide improved structural integrity of the waler assembly and the floating dock or walkway.

  • Patent number: 10520083
Abstract: A system for preventing fouling of submerged hydraulic cylinder actuators includes a pneumatic line communicably connected to a protective bellows element surrounding the cylinder rod of the actuator mechanism. As the cylinder rod extends from the cylinder housing of the mechanism and the bellows element expands, filtered air is drawn into the bellows element. Water and accompanying contaminants are prevented from entering the bellows and interfering with operation of the hydraulic actuator mechanism.

  • Patent number: 10344219
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a method and apparatus for stabilizing a product, such as a petroleum or other hydrocarbon based product, for example crude oil. Stabilization removes volatile components from the crude such that the crude product may be safely handled, stored, and/or transported. In one embodiment, the crude stabilization system includes at least a stabilizer column and an overhead system. Effluent from the stabilizer column may be fed directly into a suction inlet of a compressor system of the overhead system. The stabilizer column is preferably operated at low pressures and temperatures, thus making a desalting system unnecessary. Furthermore, overhead trim cooling, recycle cooling, and interstage cooling may be provided by the crude feed rather than air coolers or cooling water. As such, stabilized crude product may be safely transported via any means of transportation, such as a railcar.

  • Patent number: 10189685
Abstract: A winder cable guard includes a generally flat plate that is attached to an inwardly facing surface of the outer support bearing in a winder mechanism. The plate is sized and configured to fit within and seal the clearance gap between the outer end of the winder drum and the outer support bearing. This prevents a cable being wound onto the winder drum from slipping or falling into the gap. The potential for jamming and/or breakage of the lift cable is thereby reduced.

  • Publication number: 20180362057
Abstract: A collision avoidance system obtains movement indicative data of plural vehicles included in separate vehicle systems. The movement indicative data can be obtained from sensors onboard the vehicles. The system determines an identification of which of the vehicles are included in the separate vehicle systems based on the movement indicative data that are obtained and determines a collision risk between two or more vehicle systems of the separate vehicle systems based on the movement indicative data that are obtained and the identification of which of the vehicles are in the separate vehicle systems. The system automatically changes movement of at least one of the two or more vehicle systems responsive to determining the collision risk.
