  • Patent number: 4339789
Abstract: A method for quickly, efficiently and accurately aiming a flood light at a preselected location which involves directing or redirecting the collimated radiative output of a low power laser source at a preselected location. The laser output may be aimed at a mirror on the flood light face and reflected directly back to the preselected location or the laser can be temporarily mounted to the flood light and the laser output directed parallel to the flood light beam axis at said preselected location.

  • Patent number: 4281327
Abstract: The range corrector circuit uses two counters, one for the apparent range (R.sub.a) and one for the correct range (R.sub.c), and a random access memory (RAM). The R.sub.c counter is continuously incremented linearly and the R.sub.a counter is incremented in accordance with a range correction equation. Both counters are reset to one every time a transmitter pulse is received. A linear sweep is also initiated on the plan position indicator (PPI) display of the bistatic passive radar at that time. Target returns are entered into the RAM at the address specified by the R.sub.c counter and are read out of the RAM and applied to the PPI display at the address specified by the R.sub.a counter.

  • Patent number: 4196000
Abstract: A preregistered instant-processing film unit including an internal dark slide and adapted for use in exposure apparatus having processing rollers. The film unit includes a leader that carries "saddle detents" or detent shims located on opposite sides of the dark slide and having a caliper greater than the thickness of the dark slide. The shims are positioned to receive the rollers, both to provide sufficient clearance for removal of the dark slide therebetween and to hold the rest of the film unit in position while the dark slide is removed.

  • Patent number: 4105852
Abstract: This invention is directed toward pharmacologically active compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein A represents a nitrogen atom which may be substituted by a methyl, cyclopropylmethyl, di(C.sub.1-4 alkyl)aminoethyl, methoxymethyl or hydroxyethyl group and B represents a carbonyl group or A and B together represent a grouping of the formula ##STR2## in which R.sup.a represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl or hydroxymethyl group and X represents a nitrogen atom or C--R.sup.b wherein R.sup.b represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl or hydroxymethyl group; R represents a halogen atom or a nitro or trifluoromethyl group; R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; R.sup.2 represents an acyl group derived from a naturally occurring amino acid (all such groups which contain an asymmetric carbon atom having the L- or D,L-configuration) and R.sup.3 represents a phenyl, halophenyl or 2-pyridyl group and acid addition salts thereof.

  • Patent number: 3932946
Abstract: A tobacco handling and curing system and method is provided and in one aspect includes a curing container of generally rectangular solid configuration of which four side walls are generally imperforate and a pair of opposed side walls are perforate for the passage of curing gas therethrough. Such container may include one or more perforate interior transverse walls parallel to the opposed walls; adjustable edge baffles for the perforate side walls; and means carried by a pair of imperforate side walls to assist in handling the container. In another aspect of the present invention, novel curing mechanism is provided to receive a plurality of the containers and to direct gas therethrough at predeterminable temperature, humidity and volume.
