  • Publication number: 20150066713
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for enhancing the information value of data networks. Consistent with disclosed embodiments, in large datasets, automated linking between data entries is facilitated by configuration and application of one or more entropic filters to the data. A computer system separates the data into groups based on the uniqueness of information carried by the data, then determines an entropy value for each group. Based on a predetermined threshold value, the system filters out data entries that have low entropy values and thus low relevance. The system automatically generates prospective links among the filtered data entries, and provides the network of links to another system for further analysis.

  • Publication number: 20130111947
Abstract: A process for liquefying a tube side stream in a main heat exchanger is described. The process comprises the steps of: a) providing a first mass flow to the warm end of a first subset of individual tubes, b) providing a second mass flow to the warm end of a second subset of individual tubes, c) evaporating a refrigerant stream on the shell side; d) measuring an exit temperature of the first mass flow; e) measuring an exit temperature of the second mass flow; and, f) comparing the exit temperature of the first mass flow measured in step d) to the exit temperature of the second mass flow measured in step e), the process characterized in that at least one of the first and second mass flows is adjusted to equalise the exit temperature of the first mass flow with the exit temperature of the second mass flow.

  • Publication number: 20130068431
Abstract: A process for cooling a tube side stream in a main heat exchanger is described. The process comprises: a) supplying a first mass flow of a tube side stream to a first zone of individual tubes in the tube bundle; b) supplying a second mass flow of the tube side stream to a second zone of individual tubes in the tube bundle, the second zone being offset from the first zone; c) supplying a refrigerant stream on the shell side for cooling the first and second mass flows; d) removing the evaporated refrigerant stream from the warm end of the main heat exchanger; and, e) adjusting the first mass flow of the tube side stream relative to the second mass flow of the tube side stream to maximise the temperature of the removed evaporated refrigerant stream.

  • Publication number: 20080179432
Abstract: The present invention provides spreader covers and methods of using the spreader covers. Specifically, the present invention provides spreader covers that are generally rigid that are configured for enclosing the hopper of a spreader device (e.g., to protect from rain and/or spillage). In certain embodiments, the generally rigid spreader covers enclosing the top of a hopper may be slid back, along the hopper opening ridge, to allow material to be added to the hopper without removing the spreader cover.

  • Publication number: 20070106176
Abstract: A biopsy device having a cutting element is disclosed. The cutting element includes an inner cannula having a tissue receiving aperture disposed proximate a distal end thereof and an inner lumen. The inner cannula is slidably disposed within the inner lumen of an outer cannula. A vacuum chamber is disposed about at least a portion of the cutting element and is configured to create a vacuum in the cutting element during a biopsy procedure. The inner cannula is advanced distally outwardly and to cause the vacuum to be generated in the vacuum chamber. The vacuum is delivered to the cutting element whereby tissue is drawn into the tissue receiving aperture. The outer cannula is advanced distally outwardly after the inner cannula such that tissue drawn into the tissue cutting aperture is severed.

  • Publication number: 20060038675
Abstract: The Sur-Link system will link a person to any portable apparatus they may randomly misplace or enable one to monitor such things as a pocket book, cell phone or any other object that they could leave behind. This unit may be used for keys or attached to a child that you desire to keep within a safe distance and many other uses by means of an electronic sending unit that you attached to a child or object you want to protect from loss or separation. The receiving unit is attached to the person that is similar to a beeper or warning device which will sound an alarm when a distance of a few feet separates the receiver unit from the sending device attached to the unit you seek to monitor.

  • Publication number: 20050038714
Abstract: A self-service gift card terminal for the purchase or activation of a gift card, the gift card terminal including a housing having a computer processor disposed in the housing. A user interface coupled to the computer processor provides for self-service interaction between a customer and the gift card terminal. A modem coupled to the computer processor and connectable to a network transmits data to and from the gift card terminal. The gift card terminal also includes means for accepting payment for a gift card purchase. The computer processor is configured to activate a gift card in accordance with a customer request for and purchase of a gift card. A receipt for the transaction is then printed. The self-service gift card terminal provides a convenient terminal from which a customer can purchase and activate a gift card from a plurality of retailers or service providers.
