  • Patent number: 10434227
Abstract: A system for stimulating the healing of tissue comprises a porous pad positioned within a wound cavity, and an airtight dressing secured over the pad, so as to provide an airtight seal to the wound cavity. A proximal end of a conduit is connectable to the dressing. A distal end of the conduit is connectable to a negative pressure source, which may be an electric pump housed within a portable housing, or wall suction. A canister is positioned along the conduit to retain exudates suctioned from the wound site during the application of negative pressure. A controller for automated oscillation of pressure over time is provided to further enhance and stimulate the healing of an open wound. A power management motor control for varying pump drive frequency and managing a portable power supply is provided to increase battery life and improve patient mobility.

  • Patent number: 10322571
Abstract: A lamination cassette includes a substrate to accommodate a plurality of first sheets of a first size. A loading template is removably coupled to the cassette via an adapter on the cassette to secure the loading template when inclined for loading. The template includes a first loading section for accommodating a plurality of second sheets of a second size smaller than the first size when loaded onto the substrate. The lamination cassette is configured to support sheets of the first size when the adapter is not coupled to the substrate and the vertical support surface is configured to support sheets of the second size when the loading template is coupled to the substrate. The loading template may also include a second loading section for accommodating a plurality of third sheets having the same size as the second sheets for laminating two pluralities of same size sheets on a single cassette.

  • Publication number: 20180256327
Abstract: A delivery device for a prosthetic mitral valve includes five sheaths and a handle. The first sheath is coupled to a first handle portion and is rotatable and bendable. The second sheath is coupled to a second handle portion and extends through the first sheath. The second sheath is bendable, rotatable and translatable relative to the first sheath. The third sheath is coupled to a third handle portion and extends through the first and second sheaths. The third sheath is translatable relative to the second sheath. The second handle portion is coupled to the first and third handle portions. The fourth sheath extends through the third sheath and forms part of a compartment to store the prosthetic valve. The fifth sheath extends through the fourth sheath to a tip and is coupled to a retaining sheath that closes the compartment to retain the valve in a collapsed condition.

  • Patent number: 10002239
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for protecting electronic content from the time it is packaged through the time it is experienced by an end user. Protection against content misuse is accomplished using a combination of encryption, watermark screening, detection of invalid content processing software and hardware, and/or detection of invalid content flows. Encryption protects the secrecy of content while it is being transferred or stored. Watermark screening protects against the unauthorized use of content. Watermark screening is provided by invoking a filter module to examine content for the presence of a watermark before the content is delivered to output hardware or software. The filter module is operable to prevent delivery of the content to the output hardware or software if it detects a predefined protection mark. Invalid content processing software is detected by a monitoring mechanism that validates the software involved in processing protected electronic content.

  • Publication number: 20160354253
Abstract: An abdominal wound dressing and methods of use are described that enable the application of negative pressure to the wound site in a healing manner while also limiting the formation of adhesions that would prevent the removal of the dressing. The dressing comprises a layer of porous foam material enclosed by sheets of elastomeric material punctuated by a number of appropriately placed holes. Multiple layers of porous foam may also be used. A suction tube connector is provided on an upper surface of a layer of foam for connection to a negative pressure source. At least one layer of foam is enclosed in elastomeric material and is placed in direct contact with the tissue within the open wound. Fluids are drawn by negative pressure through the holes positioned in the elastomeric envelope and through the foam.
