  • Publication number: 20210043992
Abstract: A battery cell is made more thermally efficient with the addition of an integrated vapor chamber that extends out from the cell and into an external heat exchange interface. The integrated vapor chamber can contain a working fluid which undergoes phase changes between liquid and vapor phases when there is a temperature differential between the interior and exterior of the cell. The integrated vapor chamber can include a wicking material to transfer the working fluid to the exterior wall of the vapor chamber. The integrated vapor chamber allows for both heating and cooling of the battery cell.

  • Publication number: 20200023060
Abstract: The disclosure features compositions and methods for increasing the half-life of a therapeutic agent (e.g., a C5 antagonist) in the serum of a subject (e.g. a human). Also featured are compositions and methods for. (i) decreasing the frequency by which a therapeutically effective amount of a therapeutic agent must be administered to a human having, suspected of having, or at risk for developing, a medical condition for which the therapeutic agent is effective and (ii) decreasing the dosage of the therapeutic agent required for therapeutic efficacy in a human having, suspected of having, or at risk for developing, a medical condition for which the therapeutic agent is effective. The methods include reducing the serum concentration of the antigen to which the therapeutic agent binds.

  • Patent number: 10461727
Abstract: A system and method for generating a plurality of short RF pulses. The system and method comprises a first circuit comprising a first power supply and a plurality of first networks for generating a first output signal in a form of a high voltage pedestal pulse supplied to a common node, and a second circuit comprising a second power supply and a plurality of second networks for generating a second output signal in a form of a high voltage short pulse which is supplied to the common node. The pedestal pulse passes through a blocking inductor before being combined with the short pulse at the common node, and the short pulse is stacked on top of the pedestal pulse to form a combined high voltage pulse. A low frequency magnetron is coupled to the common node for receiving the stacked combined high voltage pulse and generating a short RF pulse.

Each optical sensor is configured to sense luminescence. Each of the four scintillator crystal bars being a rectangular prism with four side surfaces and first and second end surfaces, each scintillation bar has two side surfaces which each face a side surface of another scintillation bar, and each scintillation crystal bar generating a light scintillation in response to interacting with a received gamma photon. A first layer (80) is disposed in a first plane disposed between and adjacent facing side surfaces of the four substantially identical scintillation crystal bars with a light sharing portion (82) adjacent the first end surface and a reflective portion (84) adjacent the second end surface.
