Abstract: An improved color reversal element comprising: a support having thereon at least two light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers and a compound capable of releasing a development inhibitor, the element comprising a compound having the structural formulaCAR--(TIME).sub.n --INHwherein:CAR is a carrier moiety from which --(TIME).sub.n --INH is released during color development;TIME is a timing group; INH is comprised of a development inhibitor moiety selected from the group consisting of oxazole, thiazole, diazole, oxathiazole, triazole, thiatriazole, benzotriazole, tetrazole, benzimidazole, indazole, isoindazole, mercaptotriazole, mercaptothiadiazole, mercaptotetrazole, selenotetrazole, mercaptothiazole, selenobenzothiazole, mercaptobenzoxazole, selenobenzoxazole, mercaptobenzimidazole, mercaptobenzothiazole, selenobenzimidazole, benzodiazole, mercaptooxadiazole, or benzisodiazole, the INH havina an inhibitor strength greater than 1 (one), andn is 0, 1 or 2.
