Abstract: A system and method for hosting and managing a live game are disclosed which includes a live gaming table for live players and a live dealer. In an embodiment an application configures a player's mobile device to receive an invitation from a casino to play the table game based upon the player being, based upon location aware technology, being in or near the casino. Accepting the invention permits the player to reserve a position at the gaming table and displays a machine readable code at the player's mobile device. The player positions at the gaming table include video display and player input devices (VDPIDs) and a code reader to read the displayed code and access the player's electronic account. Using the VDPID the player may convert between electronic funds and physical gaming chips, participate in video bonus event play and back-bet on other players.

Abstract: A bottle assembly has a bottle and a removable cap. The cap includes a nozzle and a vent arrangement. The vent arrangement can include a vent conduit that extends into an air cavity present at the bottom of the bottle assembly when the bottle assembly is inverted. The vent arrangement allows for pressure equalization within the bottom assembly in response to liquid being dispensed from the bottle assembly to permit high flow rates of the dispensed liquid without squeezing of the bottle.

Abstract: A distributed data storage system can be configured with a host connected to a first device and an initialization module that performs a default initialization procedure on the first device in response to detecting the first device has an unknown manufacturing origin. Conducting the default initialization procedure may allow the first device to service data access requests from the host. In response to the connection of a second device to the host and initialization module, a manufacturing origin of the second device is identified with the initialization module before the initialization module customizes the default initialization procedure to a custom procedure that is executed to allow the second device to satisfy a background operation prescribed by the initialization module.

Abstract: A method and/or system to perform operations associated with a roulette game. The operations include detecting placement of a roulette bet by at least one player terminal of a plurality of player terminals of the gaming system. The roulette bet is placed prior to computing a result for a playing round of a roulette game. The operations further include computing a prorated amount of a progressive jackpot award based on a bet level of the roulette bet. The operations also include animating, by the processor via an electronic display device of the at least one player terminal, a highlight effect of the prorated amount.

Abstract: A data storage system may connect a host to a device and a hardware module that are utilized to satisfy at least one host-generated data access request to the device. A portion of the device is set as dormant by the hardware module prior to identifying an origin of the device with the hardware module during the satisfaction of the at least one host-generated data access request. In response to the identified origin, the previously dormant portion of the device is activated and subsequently utilized to execute a task assigned by the hardware module.

The optical switch is switchable between a unidirectional port operation mode and a bidirectional port operation mode. When the optical switch is in the unidirectional port operation mode, the first port is configured to send a first optical signal, and the second port configured to receive a second optical signal. When the optical switch is in the bidirectional port operation mode, the first port configured to send the first optical signal and receive the second optical signal, and the second port configured to receive a third optical signal and not send the first signal.

Abstract: An industrial heat exchange system includes a cooling tower having an exterior wall and a top aperture. An exhaust fan is positioned near the top aperture. A mixing space of the cooling tower is positioned below the exhaust fan. An ambient air inlet extends through the exterior wall for providing outside air into the mixing space. A manufacturing air inlet extends through the exterior wall for providing heated air into the mixing space. The outside air and the heated air combine within the mixing space to define control air that is maintained above a minimum temperature. The heated air is delivered through an air duct extending from a manufacturing facility to the manufacturing air inlet.

Abstract: A cooling system for an industrial facility includes a facility that has a thermal energy output and an input, a dry cooler that includes a plurality of blowers, an evaporative cooling tower, a fluid-cooled chiller, a valving system that receives a thermally-charged media from the thermal energy output for delivery to at least one of the dry cooler, the evaporative cooling tower, and the fluid-cooled chiller, and a temperature sensor that is in communication with the valving system via a controller. The temperature sensor measures a current ambient temperature and cooperates with the controller to automatically adjust the valving system to direct the thermally-charged media to one of the dry cooler, the evaporative cooling tower, and the fluid-cooled chiller for rejecting heat from the thermally-charged media to define a thermally-receptive media. The cooling system further includes a return conduit that delivers the thermally-receptive media to the input.
