Abstract: A cooling system for an industrial facility includes a facility that has a thermal energy output and an input, a dry cooler that includes a plurality of blowers, an evaporative cooling tower, a fluid-cooled chiller, a valving system that receives a thermally-charged media from the thermal energy output for delivery to at least one of the dry cooler, the evaporative cooling tower, and the fluid-cooled chiller, and a temperature sensor that is in communication with the valving system via a controller. The temperature sensor measures a current ambient temperature and cooperates with the controller to automatically adjust the valving system to direct the thermally-charged media to one of the dry cooler, the evaporative cooling tower, and the fluid-cooled chiller for rejecting heat from the thermally-charged media to define a thermally-receptive media. The cooling system further includes a return conduit that delivers the thermally-receptive media to the input.

Abstract: Provided is a method for the manufacture of a butyrate product by fermentation of a carbon source-containing fermentation feedstock with a Clostridia class bacterium which natively produces butyric acid while maintaining a pH of about 5 to 7, wherein ammonia is used for said maintaining pH and whereby a fermentation broth comprising ammonium butyrate, a biomass, and optionally a fermentation by-product is formed; separating said biomass from said fermentation broth to form separated biomass and a clarified fermentation broth, wherein said clarified fermentation broth comprises said ammonium butyrate and optionally said fermentation by-product; and adding to said clarified broth an additive selected from the group consisting of a mineral acid, a mineral base, a soluble calcium salt and combinations thereof, whereby said butyrate product is formed in said clarified broth. Further provided are feed ingredients, animal feeds and anti-icing agents comprising the composition, and uses thereof.

Also provided are animal feeds comprising such compositions, preparations for in-ovo injection comprising such compositions and methods of treatment using such compositions.

Abstract: A system and method for hosting and managing a live game are disclosed which includes a live gaming table for live players and a live dealer. In an embodiment an application configures a player's mobile device to receive an invitation from a casino to play the table game based upon the player being, based upon location aware technology, being in or near the casino. Accepting the invention permits the player to reserve a position at the gaming table and displays a machine readable code at the player's mobile device. The player positions at the gaming table include video display and player input devices (VDPIDs) and a code reader to read the displayed code and access the player's electronic account. Using the VDPID the player may convert between electronic funds and physical gaming chips, participate in video bonus event play and back-bet on other players.

Abstract: A method and/or system to perform operations associated with a roulette game. The operations include selecting, via a random number generator, a set of multiplier levels for a roulette game. The roulette game is associated with a plurality of terminals. The operations further include selecting one or more sets of random layout values from a betting layout for the roulette game, and pairing, based on multiplier-level type, each member of the set of multiplier levels with at least one of the one or more sets of random layout values. The operations further include animating, via one or more displays associated with the plurality of terminals, a highlight effect for each pair that occurs from the pairing of each member of the set of multiplier levels with the at least one of the one or more sets of random layout values.

Abstract: A gaming system comprises a gaming controller for conducting a first and second dice game, a display device to present the dice games, a plurality of dice, and one or more automated dice units (ADUs) to house and shake the dice to generate a dice outcome. The gaming controllers are configured to detect, via at least one sensor in response to generating the dice outcome, outcome indicia for each die, identify a first set of dice and a second set of dice at least partially different from the first set, translate the detected outcome indicia of the first set into outcome values for a first game outcome of the first dice game and the detected outcome indicia of the second set into outcome values for a second game outcome of the second dice game, and cause the display device to present the game outcomes.

Abstract: A gaming system comprises a player terminal, an automated dice unit (ADU), and game-logic circuitry. The ADU automatically shakes at least one die to generate a dice outcome. The game-logic circuitry receives player input from a player selecting one or more dice games, prompts the player to provide a dice control parameter affecting an aspect of a dice roll, converts the dice control parameter into a control data element compatible with the ADU, transmits ADU control data including the control data element to the ADU, causes the ADU to extract the control data element and generate a dice outcome by generating a dynamic force applied to the die based at least partially on the control data element, generates a game outcome for each of the selected dice games based on the dice outcome, and causes an electronic display device of the player terminal to present the game outcomes.

The DBMS tracking system installs database agents on DBMSs. The database agents send tracking messages and status messages to the DBMS tracking system. The DBMS tracking system updates the information stored in the DBMS tracking table based on the tracking messages and status messages.

The mobile device is configured to (i) generate, by the at least one sensor, motion data indicative of motion of the door as the door is moved from an open position to a closed position, and (ii) transmit the motion data to the server. The server is configured to analyze the motion data to (i) determine a duration the door was in each of a plurality of door movement zones between the open and closed positions, (ii) determine at least one adjustment to the door closer for a successful installation of the door closer based on the duration the door was in each of the door movement zones, and (iii) transmit at least one installation instruction corresponding with the at least one adjustment to the mobile device.

Abstract: An intraocular lens includes a base refractive structure having anterior and posterior surfaces that are shaped for producing a first optical power and a diffractive structure formed in one of the surfaces of the base refractive structure including overlapping first and second diffractive patterns over a common aperture for producing second and third optical powers. The second optical power is an uneven division of the third optical power. The first and second diffractive patterns have respective step heights that are separately varied as a function of radial distance from the optical axis over the common aperture.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices supporting data storage are described. A database server may store information in a group of files. As more information is stored at the database in the files, the sizes of the files may be increased. Techniques are described for uniformly growing files in the group of files to maintain a similar size for the files as the amount of storage increases. These techniques may prevent one file from becoming disproportionately larger than another file of the file group, supporting efficient read and write operations at the database. The file growth may be based on the file sizes as well as an amount of storage to be added for the group of files. For example, an application managing the file growth may sort the files by size, track uniform growth running totals, and determine file growth commands based on the uniform growth running totals.

Abstract: A method for forming a composite fluid conduit includes providing an inner pipe having a variation in cross-section between at least two different longitudinal sections thereof and applying a fiber reinforced composite material to the inner pipe. In some disclosed examples the variation in cross section may be provided intermediate opposing ends of the inner pipe. In other disclosed examples the variation in cross section may be provided at an end region of the inner pipe.

Abstract: A system monitors database agents associated with DBMSs running on servers, for example, servers of an organization connected by a network. The system determines whether each database agent is running according to a schedule and whether the database agent is running the correct version of a script. The system may generate a report describing differences between database agents that are running on database instances and a master configuration of database agents representing the expected configuration of the database agent. If a database instance is executing a configuration of a database agent that is different from the master configuration of the database agent, the system updates the database agent executing on the database instance to ensure that the configuration matches the master configuration.
