  • Patent number: 11952069
Abstract: A cycling computer includes a housing for enclosing an electronics package and a mount for removably securing the housing to the front of a bicycle. The housing has a wedge-shaped profile defined by a leading edge and a lower front surface extending rearward and downward to a bottom surface. The computer mount includes a cradle for removably receiving the housing. A bracket arm extends between the cradle and a mounting adapter which is used to connect to a handlebar or otherwise. The cradle further includes a curved underside surface extending rearward from a forward edge that is sized and shaped to align with the lower front surface of the computer housing to form a substantially smooth and continuous aerodynamic surface from the leading edge of the computer housing to a rear edge of the cradle.

  • Patent number: 8037822
Abstract: A cost-effective solution is proposed to improve explosive transfer between booster and warhead that is compatible with the existing base of general purpose warheads and flexible to work with new warhead configurations. A booster lens is placed in the fuze well that concentrates the pressure wave to penetrate the fuze well with a peak pressure that exceeds the detonation threshold and detonate the warhead explosive. The booster lens can be configured to control the direction of the concentrated lobe to penetrate the fuze well where the barriers are low.

  • Patent number: 4946391
Abstract: An electronic handheld arithmetic learning aid which includes a speech synthesis device, a speaker driven by the speech synthesis device, a memory having digital data stored therein from which a plurality of mathematical problems may be derived for presentation to an operator for solution, and a controller for accessing selected portions of the digital data from the memory for input to the speech synthesizer device in presenting the mathematical problems to the operator in an audibly voiced manner via the speaker. In one aspect, at least some of the mathematical problems derivable from the memory involve respective sets of at least two individual numbers from which the operator is expected to determine a particular mathematical relation in providing a solution to the corresponding mathematical problem.

  • Patent number: 4403965
Abstract: An electronic teaching apparatus which utilizes interchangeable flexible overlays with printed pictorial representations in conjunction with a programmable keyboard. An integrated circuit speech synthesizer is utilized to verbally ask an operator to select a particular pictorial representation or to verbally identify a pictorial representation selected by the operator. Upon the failure of the operator to correctly select a particular pictorial representation, the verbal request can be repeated in conjunction with a verbal description of some attribute of the desired pictorial presentation. Each of the interchangeable overlays is coded to allow control circuitry to select a proper sequence of words for a given overlay.

  • Patent number: 4295181
Abstract: A module containing an integrated circuit, such as a read-only memory (ROM), includes an essentially box-shaped plastic housing having an internal chamber in which the integrated circuit is located. Positioned within the chamber is a printed circuit board on which the integrated circuit is mounted. Also mounted on the printed circuit board and adjacent to an elongated narrow slot located in one side of the housing are a plurality of electrical spring contacts electrically connected to the integrated circuit by means of electrical conductors on the printed circuit board. Upon insertion of the module into an electronic apparatus, edge connectors of a printed circuit board of the electronic apparatus extend through the narrow slot and engage the electrical spring contacts, thereby electrically connecting the integrated circuit to the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4012048
Abstract: Concentric rings of acoustic damping material are mounted on a turntable surface and combine with an insulating adapter to provide acoustic isolation for records with large or small spindle holes. The rings are unconnected to prevent acoustic coupling between the rings while providing a flat surface on which a recording disc may be mounted. The adapter is formed of acoustic damping material and is resiliently mounted in the center of the turntable to be received by two different size spindle holes of various recording discs. The adapter is in the form of a disc having a thin annular section adapted to be received in a large spindle hole and an upstanding cylindrical section or boss of smaller diameter adapted to be received in a small spindle hole. The adapter is resiliently extended to normally position the annular section in the same plane as a recording disc mounted on the concentric rings.
