  • Patent number: 11986310
Abstract: Methods, devices and systems for evaluating olfactory function are configured to: electronically estimate a user-specific odorant detection threshold sensitivity threshold using at least one target stimulus odorant delivered to a nose of a user; flowably deliver a plurality of different target stimulus odorants to the nose of the user with defined concentrations of the different target stimulus odorants based, at least in part, on the estimated user-specific odorant detection sensitivity threshold; and evaluate olfactory function of the user based on the user's response to the delivered different target stimulus odorants.

  • Publication number: 20240151914
Abstract: A dust cap adapted to fit within a fiber optic adapter. The dust cap includes a dust cap body having a back adapter end and may or may not have a front knob end. The dust cap body is shaped such that the back adapter end has a press fit with a fiber optic adapter. An opening accommodates an adapter ferrule and a flange is secured in an adapter by a stabilizer and projection or dust and port identification cap body. The dust cap also transmits laser light along a longitudinal axis of the solid mass of the dust cap body from just beyond the back adapter end to just beyond the front knob end.

  • Publication number: 20240139585
Abstract: Provided herein are devices and methods for analysis and/or exercise of a body region of a subject. Such devices may include a guide arm supported by a support frame; a receiving surface supported by the guide arm, the receiving surface for receiving input force from the subject; and a motor assembly in communication with the guide arm, the motor assembly controlling movement of the receiving surface based on received input force. Exercise and/or analysis methods described herein may include steps of instructing the subject to apply an input force to a receiving surface; sensing the applied input force over time; and controlling movement of the receiving surface based on the received input force using a motor assembly, whereby the motor assembly moves the receiving surface in a pre-determined direction, so long as the input force remains within an allowable tolerance, until a pre-set end position is reached.

  • Publication number: 20240137328
Abstract: Reservations of resources within a dynamic workspace are made and facilitated including by pushing configurations specific to a worker for whom a reservation is made to the resource for a limited time period for the reservation. When the worker arrives for the reservation and checks in, configurations associated with the worker are obtained and pushed to the resource to configure the resource for use by the worker for a time period of the reservation. In some cases, an identity of the worker may be verified to complete the check in process for the reservation. In response to an end time of the reservation being determined, such as based on a scheduled end time for the reservation or based on a determination that the resource has gone unused for some amount of time, the configurations are removed from the resource to prepare the resource for use by a next worker.

  • Publication number: 20240089405
Abstract: A best available video stream is determined for each of multiple conference participants within a conference room including multiple cameras based on scores determined for video streams obtained from the cameras. The scores are determined based on representations of the conference participants within the video streams, for example, based on percentages of conference participant faces visible within the video streams, directions of conference participant faces relative to the cameras, directions of eye gaze of the conference participants relative to the cameras, and/or degrees to which conference participant faces are obscured within the video streams. The best available video streams are output for rendering within separate user interface tiles of conferencing software.

  • Patent number: 11922347
Abstract: The future presence of a worker in a dynamic workspace which includes resources for temporary use may be signaled to other workers. In response a first worker making a reservation of a resource, a second worker to indicate the future presence of that first worker to is determined based on communication records associated with the first worker and the second worker. An indication of the reservation of the resource for the first worker, and thus the future presence of that first worker in an office which includes that reserved resource, is accordingly signaled to the second worker. A suggested resource for the second worker may then be determined based on the reservation of the resource for the first worker. In response to the second worker making a reservation of the suggested resource, a reservation record indicating the reservation of the suggested resource for the second worker may then be generated.

  • Patent number: 11891814
Abstract: A prefabricated wall panel has a precast body including at least one decorative design element. In addition, the wall panel includes a mounting element having a first end embedded in the precast body and a second end projecting from the precast body. A groove is formed between the precast body and the second end of the mounting element along a first edge of the precast body. A tongue is formed along a second edge of the precast body opposite the first edge. The tongue and groove cooperate to allow prefabricated wall panels to be more easily installed on a support substrate.

  • Patent number: 11866329
Abstract: A method for capturing material extracted from biochar is provided comprising the steps of: (i) providing a biochar; (ii) contacting the biochar with an extraction media, where the extraction media causes the removal of residual compounds from the pores and surface of the biochar, creating a resulting extract comprised of the extraction media and removed compounds; and (iii) collecting the resulting extract. The method also can include other steps of extraction and purification. The method further comprises the step of applying the resulting extract to seeds, plants, soil, other agricultural products, or for use in other applications. A biochar having high levels of soluble signaling compounds is also provided, where the biochar is derived from a biomass source that together with predefined pyrolysis parameters produces resulting biochar having increased levels of soluble signaling compounds that are known to increase seed germination rates and early plant growth.

  • Patent number: 11858202
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an additive manufacturing system for forming a part using a powder material. In one embodiment the system makes use of a primary heat generating subsystem to generate a fusing beam for heating and fusing at least one of select portions of a powder layer, or an entire area of a powder layer, deposited on a build plate. The system also incorporates a beam steering subsystem for steering the fusing beam over the powder layer. A supplemental heating subsystem is used to generate a wide area beam to heat a portion of the powder layer either prior to fusing, along with the fusing operation, or subsequent to fusing of the powder with the fusing beam. The wide area beam has an intensity which is insufficient to fuse the powder, and alters a microstructure of the powder layer as the powder layer is at least one of fused or as it cools, to thus relieve stress in the part.

  • Publication number: 20230412763
Abstract: User interface (UI) tiles of conference participants are arranged in a UI of conferencing software according to relative locations of those conference participants within a conference room. Positional information and video data are obtained from one or more video capture devices located within a conference room. Relative locations of conference participants within the conference room are determined based on the positional information, such as by defining coordinates for the conference participants within a coordinate system based on the positional information and the video data and determining the relative locations based on the coordinates. Output configured to cause a client application to arrange UI tiles associated with the conference participants is generated according to the relative locations. The output is then transmitted to one or more client devices to cause a UI of conferencing software at each of those client devices to display the UI tiles in the specified arrangement.
